5 Possible Feuds For Roman Reigns After Jacob Fatu Match at WWE Backlash 2026

Graham GSM MatthewsMay 1, 2026

Per The Tribal Chief himself, Roman Reigns is ready to rule the summer in WWE.

Heading into his World Heavyweight Championship clash with CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, fans were worried he would be a part-time champ again if he won, much like in the latter half of his historic Undisputed WWE Universal Championship run.

Reigns quickly quelled those concerns upon beating Punk on Night 2 of The Show of Shows by announcing on WWE's post-show that he was sticking around through the summer.

Although that heavily implied he wouldn't be dropping the title until then, it also left fans excited for all of the marquee matches that are now possible. That includes his upcoming title defense against Jacob Fatu at Backlash on May 9, which will mark the first time those two have waged war one-on-one.

There are several scores The Tribal Chief has yet to settle and a few fresh faces he has yet to battle.

Once Reigns gets past Fatu, these are five possible feuds he can have in the coming months.

Bron Breakker

WWE - 2025 SummerSlam

Roman Reigns never quite finished his feud with The Vision before shifting his focus toward the World Heavyweight Championship.

He last crossed paths with the faction at Survivor Series: WarGames in November, when The Vision emerged victorious over Reigns' squad. There wasn't a formal resolution to their rivalry due to injuries significantly altering creative plans.

Moreover, we never got that highly anticipated outing between him and Bron Breakker in singles competition. The Tribal Chief and Jey Uso bested The Badass and Bronson Reed in tag team action at SummerSlam, but WWE wisely held off on doing Reigns vs. Breakker until it made more sense.

Once Breakker wraps up his rivalry with Seth Rollins, he should be next in line for a shot for the title. It would be an excellent attraction for Night of Champions, if not SummerSlam itself.

The second-generation Steiner is overdue for a run with the prestigious prize, and it could come at Reigns' expense.

Bronson Reed

WWE Crown Jewel

While we await Reigns vs. Breakker, it's important to remember that a current member of The Vision was the last person to pin Reigns one-on-one, and that's Bronson Reed.

Reigns originally knocked off Reed at Clash in Paris at the end of August, but Reed went on to avenge that loss in his native Australia at Crown Jewel that October. It was a massive victory for Reed, and although Reed was largely protected after that, WWE never completely capitalized on his momentum.

Now that Reigns is World Heavyweight champion, it would be illogical for Reed to do anything else upon his return from injury than target Reigns and go after his gold.

Of course, that's under the assumption that Reed will be back before Reigns drops the belt, but it would be an effective use of Reed if he is able to make it back in the next few months, especially since he has yet to be positioned as a meaningful world championship challenger.

Jey Uso

Reigns vs. Jey Uso has undoubtedly been done to death over the years, but that may not stop WWE from having them rekindle their rivalry at some point between now and SummerSlam, likely with the roles reversed this time around.

The only reason this would remotely be considered a possibility is because of their current alliance on television. The Usos agreed to join forces with Reigns again on the post-WrestleMania Raw, and although we heard from Jimmy Uso, Jey interestingly stayed silent until Jacob Fatu emerged.

It's unknown if Jey would have dropped Reigns where he stood had it not been for Fatu. There's nothing exciting about having The Usos turn on Reigns for a second time, but it might be better than running back the OG Bloodline.

Jey spent the spring of 2025 in the main event scene with the World Heavyweight Championship and made the most of it, but he's just not believable as a world title-caliber competitor. Additionally, Jey has never beaten Reigns on his own, so unless the idea is for him to finally get that elusive win, it would be a waste for WWE to book this bout.

Seth Rollins

4 of 5
WrestleMania 41

Had Seth Rollins not gotten injured late last year, it's extremely likely that he would have defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns at WrestleMania 42.

It's a match we've seen many times before, but it's never happened on The Grandest Stage of Them All in a singles capacity. Reigns also hasn't defeated Rollins on a premium live event, so between that and all of their unfinished business from The Bloodline and The Shield, the story sells itself.

Rollins returned from his injury earlier this year as a babyface, or at least as a tweener. He's currently tied up with Bron Breakker, but depending on who reigns supreme in their matchup at Backlash, Rollins could be coming for Reigns sooner rather than later.

After all, Rollins was never beaten for the belt, so Rollins vs. Reigns has to happen at some point, regardless of what event it ends up on.

Oba Femi

With the way Oba Femi demolished Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, it would be booking malpractice to keep him out of the World Heavyweight Championship picture for the next year.

WWE apparently intends to keep him busy with weekly open challenges for the foreseeable future, but that's not sustainable. It will be enough to last him through late June, when he could win the King of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions and earn himself a world title opportunity at SummerSlam.

If Reigns remains full-time between now and then, he would be the ideal opponent for Femi in the latter's first-ever shot at the prestigious prize.

It would be almost identical to Lesnar's unprecedented push in 2002 when he debuted the night after WrestleMania and won the world title by SummerSlam. Femi is white-hot at the moment and ready to capture that championship at any time.

Reigns vs. Femi is arguably among the biggest bouts WWE can put together right now, and it would only be appropriate for The Tribal Chief's latest run to be cut short by his biggest threat so the era of Oba Femi can officially get underway.
