Before WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H signed a reported deal to remain with the company moving forward, there were reportedly some murmurs within the company about his job security.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Triple H's future as head of creative was "a topic of conversation" in WWE leading up to WrestleMania 42, unlike in previous years.

The conversations Alvarez referenced weren't being had by the top decision-makers in WWE and TKO, but rather those who were attempting to connect the dots between TKO reportedly meddling in storylines and what that meant for Triple H.

Per Alvarez, some in WWE wondered if executives truly had belief in Triple H and his vision, which also caused them to wonder if Triple H's job was in jeopardy.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) reported that TKO CEO Ari Emanuel made the call to involve Pat McAfee in the WWE Championship feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

That suggested Triple H didn't necessarily have final say in certain situations, and if that was the case, it was fair to consider whether he could be made a fall guy for any perceived shortcomings.

However, PWInsider.com (h/t Carrier) reported this week that Triple H signed a new, multiyear employment contract with WWE, and WWE President Nick Khan reportedly announced it during a company meeting.

That should mean Triple H is safe in his role for the foreseeable future, but given the influence TKO reportedly had over WrestleMania 42, Triple H may not be the sole decision-maker creatively moving forward.

Vaquer Reportedly Dealing with Legitimate Injury

The injury angle involving Stephanie Vaquer on Monday night's episode of Raw was reportedly done to account for a legitimate injury Vaquer is currently dealing with.

According to Alvarez (h/t Carrier), Vaquer is injured, although it is uncertain when or how she got hurt, and how much time she will have to miss.

After The Judgment Day attacked Vaquer backstage, it was noted on commentary that La Primera suffered a sprained AC joint in her shoulder, and Alvarez suggested that may indeed be the actual injury Vaquer is nursing.

Vaquer dropped the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42, and their match was among the shortest on the card at less than seven minutes.

It was later reported by BodySlam.net (h/t Carrier) that both Vaquer and Morgan working through injuries played a role in the decision for their match to be brief.

Vaquer now being on the shelf lends some credibility to that report, as WWE may have wanted to get her through the match as healthy as possible so she could take some time off after WrestleMania.

It sounds like that will be the case, which opens the door for other members of the Raw women's division to go after Morgan and the women's world title throughout the spring and into the summer.

Reported Reason for EVIL Beginning in NXT

EVIL made his WWE debut on Tuesday night's episode of NXT, and there is reportedly a specific reason why the former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star is starting out on WWE's developmental brand.

According to BodySlam.net's Cory Hays, EVIL's WWE journey is beginning in NXT "at his own request."

After his arrival was teased last week, EVIL arrived this week on NXT by confronting reigning NXT champion Tony D'Angelo.

D'Angelo was so entranced by EVIL that it allowed both Tavion Heights and the newly signed Will Kroos to take advantage by attacking Tony D after EVIL left the ring.

Announcers Vic Joseph and Booker T were careful not to mention EVIL's name, which suggests a name change could be forthcoming.

The 39-year-old veteran was a top star in Japan, holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and several other major titles in NJPW.

Those accolades would have been enough to earn him an immediate trip to the main roster, but there could be value in starting off as a member of NXT.

Other Japanese stars such as Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka took that route in the past, and it allowed them to get acclimated to the company before being elevated to Raw and SmackDown.

NXT also had a desperate need for main event talent after the recent call-ups of Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, Ethan Page, Joe Hendry and Ricky Saints, and EVIL undoubtedly fits the bill.
