WWE WrestleMania 42 Predictions for Saturday Night's Updated Match Card
WWE returns to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for WrestleMania 42 on Saturday night with the first of two nights of action, headlined by Randy Orton challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
That blockbuster may be one of the easier to predict matches on a card that also features championships at stake, an unsanctioned fight, and celebrity YouTuber IShowSpeed in his first WrestleMania match.
What should fans expect from the outcomes of the bouts on tap Saturday night in Sin City?
Find out now with these predictions for the jam-packed match card.
The Usos and LA Knight vs. Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and IShowSpeed
1 of 7
The Usos, LA Knight, and The Vision have battled against each other in some form or fashion as far back as last summer, making it the longest-running rivalry of any on this year's WrestleMania card.
Logan Paul and Austin Theory winning the tag titles from Jimmy and Jey, and the injection of IShowSpeed to the equation added heat to a program that was beyond stale, and will finally write its last chapter to kick off this 42nd Showcase of the Immortals.
Given how frequently the heels have gone over this past year, this is the perfect opportunity for the babyfaces to get a big win, in a match that will be viewed on ESPN2 for casual fans to watch for free, and to do so in a match with celebrity involvement like Paul and Speed.
Prediction: Usos and Knight
Women's Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch
2 of 7
A match in the making since Lee's return last September, the Women's Intercontinental Championship Match will see Lynch attempt to prove her big talk and bravado by regaining her title from a competitor who has already beaten her in three consecutive matches.
A WrestleMania win would complete Lee's momentous comeback and give her an exclamation point on a whirlwind seven months.
Unfortunately for her, WWE probably did not book a fourth meeting between them only to give fans more of the same as what they already had.
Lynch wins here, regains the title, and finds a new challenger as soon as Monday's Raw.
Prediction: Lynch regains the title
Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
3 of 7
Rollins is fresh off a rotator cuff injury that kept him out of in-ring action since October. Gunther was nearly, and inexplicably, left off the WrestleMania card altogether, despite retiring John Cena and AJ Styles in succession to end 2025 and start the new year.
Both could use a big-time WrestleMania victory, but The Ring General feels like he needs it more, especially after shaking Paul Heyman's hand and planting the seeds for the long-rumored match between him and Brock Lesnar later this year.
Expect one of the best matches of the entire weekend, between two of the most talented wrestlers alive, but Gunther gets the win and sets up for another banner summer.
Prediction: Gunther
Fatal 4-Way for the Women's Tag Team Championship
4 of 7
Without knowing the status of Nikki Bella entering the women's tag team match Saturday, which will pit champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and (maybe) The Bella Twins, it is slightly more difficult to predict what the outcome of the Fatal 4-Way Match might look like.
With no clear-cut answer, it is best to err on the side of caution and stick with the champions.
Jax and Legend still feel like untapped champions, capable of wreaking havoc and running the tag division for the foreseeable future. They are big, strong, tough, bruising champions who are a perfect counter to the rest of the roster.
Barring a massive surprise, and it is WrestleMania, so they are always a possibility, the heels retain here and continue their run with the titles.
Prediction: Jax and Legend retain
Unsanctioned Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre
5 of 7
The rivalry between Fatu and McIntyre has been one of the most intense and personal ones on WWE TV for weeks and they write their final chapter in an Unsanctioned Match on Saturday night.
Expect chaos, physicality, potentially even some good, old-fashioned plunder-enhanced violence in the one match that feels like a grudge match.
McIntyre can always use a big win to strengthen his claims to a main event spot, but Fatu needs this one more to firmly establish himself as a top guy, which the company will need in the coming weeks.
The Samoan Werewolf gets another high-profile WrestleMania win here and catapults himself back to a spot he never should have been out of.
Prediction: Fatu wins
Women's World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan
6 of 7
There is still so much untapped potential in Vaquer as a champion.
With that said, the lead-up to WrestleMania has been about Liv Morgan. She won the Royal Rumble, emotionally celebrated, has unlocked a new, more intense side of herself, and is competing in the first singles WrestleMania match of her career.
Morgan has been all over the media and debuted a music video for her song, Trouble, too.
She is double-tough, accomplishing the last two weeks of build with two black eyes and a hematoma on her forehead, battle scars from her penultimate physical encounter with the champion.
Vaquer will remain in the hunt for the title and may even benefit from chasing the gold, but Morgan wins Saturday night and begins her latest reign with the gold.
Prediction: Morgan retains
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
7 of 7
There is nothing about the build to Saturday's main event that makes the slightest bit of sense if Rhodes retains the Undisputed WWE Championship.
It would undercut Orton's heel turn, further frustrate fans suffering from "Cody fatigue," and most importantly, fly in the face of the mangled mess of a storyline involving Pat McAfee that WWE inexplicably introduced to the proceedings.
Orton will win here, pick up his 15th world title, and embark on a run at the top of SmackDown that likely catapults the TKO vs. WWE story forward, for better or worse.
Prediction: Orton wins the title
