Bron Breakker and 4 WWE Superstars Primed for Post-WrestleMania 42 Bump

Philip LindseyApr 3, 2026

The road to WrestleMania can often signal what's next for WWE Superstars who may not even have a spot on the card.

The Showcase of the Immortals will return to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18-19. The lead-in to this year's event hasn't been nearly as compelling as other years, but the marquee matches are still worth the price of admission.

Even more, WWE has planted the seeds for several wrestlers to continue to break out from the pack in the aftermath of its biggest show of the year. Some of these moves may not have an immediate impact, but they will give fans a glimpse of what's next.

With that in mind, these are five wrestlers primed for more screen time after WrestleMania 42.

Kiana James

1 of 5
SmackDown

Although Kiana James has had a rocky jump to the main roster, she has emerged as someone to keep an eye on in 2026.

The 28-year-old turned heads as the third entrant in this year's women's Royal Rumble match, lasting for 27 minutes and 30 seconds. No one expected her to remain in the contest that long, and she made the most of her time in the ring.

To put this in perspective, James was in the match for as long as Iyo Sky, and she lasted longer than many established stars such as Rhea Ripley or Becky Lynch. It would be easy to assume this was a fluke, but she also pinned Charlotte Flair to qualify for the women's Elimination Chamber match.

Needless to say, she has left a lasting impact on the last two premium live events, outperforming her client and current women's United States champion, Giulia.

So, it's a safe bet that we will see more of James after WrestleMania season.

Danhausen

2 of 5

Danhausen is quickly becoming an internet sensation following his surprise debut at Elimination Chamber in February.

The occupant of the mystery crate at the PLE garnered mixed reactions both online and live at the United Center in Chicago. However, his backstage antics and curses are gradually catching on with the audience.

If you're familiar with Danhausen as an independent wrestling attraction or former All Elite Wrestling star, it's easy to see his appeal. Frankly, it's easier to give him a few minutes every week to do something zany or interact with an established name than it is to protect a newcomer's mystique in the ring.

To that end, he hasn't wrestled a match yet, but WWE has already done a great job of showcasing his character in less time than most newcomers. With such a crowded roster, the company needs acts that can maximize their on-screen time like Danhausen.

Royce Keys

3 of 5
WWE Royal Rumble

Royce Keys hasn't enjoyed the same success since he left AEW, but that will likely change after WrestleMania 42.

The wrestler formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs surprisingly hasn't been on Raw or SmackDown since his WWE debut in the men's Rumble. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to slot many new faces into the fray during the build to The Show of Shows.

Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je'Von Evans have fared well in this regard because the WWE audience is already more familiar with them. The first PLE of 2026 was an ideal place to make his first appearance, but the timing hasn't worked out in his favor.

Expect to see Keys more when the WWE creative team has more time to develop him into a credible threat and set up intriguing opponents.

Raquel Rodriguez

4 of 5

Raquel Rodriguez has noticeably improved over the past few months, and she will undoubtedly factor into plans for the Women's World Championship later this year.

Big Mami Cool was the highlight of this year's women's Elimination Chamber match, racking up a double pin on Kiana James and Asuka. She was such a success that the Chicago crowd booed loudly when Tiffany Stratton eliminated her.

In the weeks since, Rodriguez has been a fixture on Raw as a foil to Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky. Her latest upset win over The Genius of the Sky proves WWE wants us to see her as a believable contender.

The company has also teased brewing friction with Liv Morgan. It's safe to assume she would be a potential opponent for her Judgment Day stablemate if she leaves WrestleMania 42 as the new champion.

Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker is primed for an epic return after a severe hernia halted his journey to WrestleMania.

Last year wasn't the one many of us expected for Breakker after he ousted Seth Rollins from The Vision and set his sights on championship gold. This seemed like the perfect time to capitalize on their investment in the 28-year-old.

Instead, WWE delayed his crowning moment and used his Royal Rumble entrance to reignite his feud with his mentor. Although he's reportedly cleared to compete at The Show of Shows, the company has already pivoted to Gunther vs. Rollins.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, "they want the proper television built time" for his inevitable rivalry with Rollins. If you hoped it would play out on The Grandest Stage of Them All, that's a disappointing development, but it could work out for Breakker in the long run.
