NFL Legend Jason Kelce to Serve as Masters Par 3 Contest On-Course Reporter for ESPN after TGL Debut
After joining the TGL broadcast team earlier this month, NFL legend Jason Kelce is continuing his foray into golf commentating.
According to David Rumsey of Front Office Sports, ESPN tabbed Kelce as an on-course reporter for the Masters Par 3 contest next week.
"Coverage of the beloved Masters Par 3 Contest begins Wednesday at noon, with two exclusive hours on the ESPN App and Disney+, followed by two additional hours on ESPN at 2 p.m., hosted by SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt with [Marty] Smith and ESPN NFL analyst Jason Kelce conducting interviews with players and their families," ESPN said in a statement on Tuesday morning, per Andrew McCarty of Newsweek.
Kelce served as a special guest commentator for TGL from March 1-3 for the final three matches of the regular season. Since he retired from the NFL in 2024, the 38-year-old has taken on multiple endeavors in the broadcasting world, most notably serving as an analyst for ESPN's Monday Night Countdown.
ESPN released a compilation video of Kelce's TGL experience, which included a tour of the rotating green at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The Masters Par 3 contest is a tradition that leads into the major tournament. Competitors typically bring family members as caddies as they play a quick nine-hole setup at Augusta National, with the contestant with the most favorable score against par declared the winner. There hasn't been a winner of the Par 3 contest who went on to win the Masters in the same year.
