Big Ten Tournament 2026 Men's Semifinals Scores, Championship Bracket and Schedule

Joe TanseyMar 14, 2026

Two of the last three Big Ten tournament champions will go head-to-head on Sunday in Chicago for the 2026 Big Ten tournament title.

The Michigan Wolverines, who have been the class of the league all season, take on the Purdue Boilermakers for one of the final automatic berths into the NCAA tournament.

Michigan knocked off the Wisconsin Badgers in Saturday's first semifinal, while Purdue held on to beat the UCLA Bruins.

Michigan and Purdue are both in the field of 68, but a win on Sunday could help with seeding on Selection Sunday.

Michigan and Purdue will face off for the second time this season in Sunday's Big Ten tournament final.

Michigan won the first meeting on February 17 by a 91-80 score.

The Wolverines have had a lower-scoring run in Chicago by their standards, as they put up 71 against the Ohio State Buckeyes and 68 versus Wisconsin.

Defensively, the Wolverines have been as strong as they've been all season with two concessions under 70 points.

Purdue scored at least 73 points in each of its three Big Ten tournament games. It also held its three opponents under 70 points.

The Boilermakers need their defense to show up again on Sunday to handle all of the looks that Michigan can throw at an opponent from Yaxel Lendeborg to Elliot Cadeau and a handful of others.

Purdue's offense, as it always does, will run through Braden Smith, who had nine assists in the semifinal win over UCLA.

Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn combined for 47 points in the first meeting with Michigan. If Purdue gets that same level of output from its two best players, it can challenge Michigan.

The Wolverines are locked into a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but they might have a shot to go after the No. 1 overall seed if Duke loses in the ACC tournament final on Saturday.

Purdue, currently projected to be a No. 3 seed by ESPN's Joe Lunardi, could move up the overall seed line with a win on Sunday.
