NBA Legend Dwight Howard Teases WWE Run After Trending Photo with Triple H
NBA legend and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Dwight Howard took to social media Tuesday to tease a potential foray into professional wrestling with WWE.
After attending Monday night's episode of Raw in his hometown of Atlanta, Howard posted a photo of himself with WWE head of creative Triple H on X. As part of the post, Howard also included a screenshot of a headline from 2022 that read, "Triple H wants NBA star to join WWE: 'All he's got to do is call me ... let's go.'"

That article was written after Howard participated in a WW tryout as part of SummerSlam weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, in July 2022.
During an appearance on All The Smoke around that time, Howard said he would "definitely enjoy" being part of WWE.
Howard added that WWE's then-CEO Stephanie McMahon told him at the tryout that he cut the best promo of anyone there. Howard went on to say that he was "gonna go get that bill" in WWE.
However, Howard signing with WWE never materialized, and he explained why in 2024, noting that a conversation with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made him change his mind.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Howard said, "I was talking to Ric Flair. He said I don't know if my knees is good for wrestling."
Listed at 6'10", Howard would be one of the tallest wrestlers in WWE and all of pro wrestling, and it is a business that is notoriously tough on athletes' bodies.
On top of that, Howard is 40 years old, and he spent 18 seasons in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers from 2004 to 2022.
Howard enjoyed a spectacular career, earning eight All-Star selections, five rebounding titles, three NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards and one NBA championship.
He was also part of the gold-medal-winning United States men's basketball team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Howard is the tallest Slam Dunk Contest winner in NBA history, so his athleticism is undeniable, which suggests he is fully capable of transitioning into pro wrestling like many athletes before him.
However, the combination of his age and the punishment his body has taken over the years would perhaps make a wrestling career a difficult endeavor for Howard at this point in his life.
