Conor McGregor Teases Next UFC Fight Ahead of Historic White House Card
Conor McGregor continues to fuel speculation he's nearing a return to the UFC.
"It's a no name up next for me possibly, folks," he wrote in a single-deleted post on X (via ESPN's Brett Okamoto). "I ACCEPT. Send the contract, lads."
McGregor also wrote that "I have no ego whatsoever but sublime confidence."
Okamoto noted the former featherweight and lightweight champion deleted a similar message from days earlier saying he had been "offered an opponent and a date and I accept."
McGregor hasn't fought since his 2021 defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He was slated to headline the UFC 303 card in 2024 alongside Michael Chandler, only to pull out with an injury.
Given he remains a marketable name, fans have wondered whether McGregor's comeback could unfold on the UFC's highly anticipated White House card. No fights have been confirmed for the June 14 spectacle as of yet.
Should McGregor compete in the nation's capital, it won't be against Chandler. UFC president Dana White ruled out that idea in January.
There have been enough false dawns to this point that a segment of fans won't get too excited about McGregor's pronouncements until his name is on a contract.
