WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for August 6
Just weeks before his showdown with Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns was front and center during Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings, the centerpiece of the show.
Not only did the juggernaut kick off the program with a promo that hyped his upcoming clash with the Reaper of Souls, he book-ended it, squaring off with the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev, in the night's main event.
The so-called "Divas Revolution" continued as well, with Charlotte and Becky Lynch battling Team BAD's Naomi and NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks in tag team action.

Analysis
If there was not evidence before that Rusev's credibility has been severely damaged by his current, ongoing angle, one must look no further than the outcome of Thursday's main event.
The Bulgarian Brute is regularly losing matches at this point. A few weeks ago, he suffered a pinfall loss to Cesaro and now finds himself dropping a match to Reigns. While his win-loss record still dwarfs that of most Superstars, it is alarming to see how nonchalantly he is being booked by WWE Creative at this point.
Reigns as the centerpiece of the show is a smart move, if for no other reason than the fact that he cannot be overshadowed by other main event acts, as has been the case over on Raw in recent weeks. It also allows him to bask in the spotlight as, undeniably, the biggest star on the broadcast.
Considering the company's hopes for him in the grand scheme of things, it is absolutely the right call to put as much emphasis on the second-generation star as often as possible.
The rest of the show looks very much skippable, with a six-man tag team match between the PTPs, Mark Henry and The New Day that sounds like every other similar bout the tag champions and their top contenders have had before, and a Stardust-Zack Ryder contest that may be entertaining but is hardly a reason to go out of your way to tune in.
The Divas tag match could prove highly entertaining but with no clear direction or match announced as SummerSlam approaches, it already feels like the immensely talented women are on a treadmill of sorts when it comes to booking.
