
Olympic Men's Alpine Skiing Results, 2026 Medal Winners for Slalom
Reigning world champion Loic Meillard won gold for Switzerland in the men's slalom on Monday, putting on a blistering performance to take the alpine skiing title at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Meillard triumphed in dramatic scenes, as first-run pace setter Atle Lie McGrath straddled an early gate to end his chances of victory. Austria's Fabio Gstrein defied the expectations of many to take silver, while Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen claimed bronze.

No Olympic champion has ever defended this title, and so it proved once more, as France's Clement Noel struggled in seventh after his first run and then failed to finish his second.
Difficult conditions played havoc with the field during the opening round. More than half the riders did not finish, including Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, who made history on Sunday by winning Brazil's first-ever Winter Olympics medal with gold in the giant slalom.
Gstrein was the first rider to truly lay down the marker for gold. He was third fastest after his initial run, and then posted the fastest second run with Meillard and Lie McGrath the only riders left to go.
Meillard responded confidently, powerfully rattling through the course and matching Gstrein's second-run time to go ahead overall.
Only one man could stop Meillard from taking the prize. However, Lie McGrath's costly mistake happened just in front of Meillard's coaching team, producing a dramatic contrast of emotions in one shot.
The Norwegian launched his skis over the barrier and ran off to hide among the trees as a medal proved elusive.
