Peyton Watson is on the move after a three-team trade on Wednesday.

Per ESPN's Shams Charania, the Denver Nuggets are trading Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Max Strus is being sent to the Los Angeles Clippers by the Cavs and the Nuggets will receive an unprotected 2031 Cavs first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder.

Watson will sign a four-year, $88 million deal with the Cavs that includes a player option.

Bobby Marks of ESPN provided details on the salary caps:

As Marks notes, neither the Cavs nor the Nuggets have tradeable first-round draft picks available.

The sign-and-trade for Watson comes after the 23-year-old posted 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game across 54 contests. He shot 49.1 percent from the field and 41.1 percent from deep.

While he played a big role for Denver while Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun were out with injuries, Watson also dealt with a lingering hamstring injury that led to him missing significant time.

Nonetheless, the former first-rounder had the best season of his career, and it led to a big payday.

Strus is coming off an injury-riddled season that saw him play just 12 games, not making his season debut until March. Now with the Clippers, he'll look to return to being an impactful starter.

Having secured Watson, who will presumably take over as the starting small forward, the next task for Cleveland is to sign James Harden. While Harden is a free agent, all signs point to him returning to the Cavs, and a new deal for him reportedly could come soon.

As for the Nuggets, they're reportedly looking into free agent forward DeMar DeRozan.
