Olympic 2026 Medal Count, Final Tally, Winners from Day 3 Events

Joe TanseyFeb 9, 2026

Switzerland pulled into a tie for the most gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics with a pair of victories on Monday.

Mathilde Gremaud beat out China's Eileen Gu in a close battle in the women's freestyle skiing slopestyle event.

Switzerland's second gold of the day came in the men's team combined event in alpine skiing.

The Swiss are now tied with Norway for three gold medals. The United States, Japan and Germany are the only other countries with multiple golds through three days of competition at the Milan Cortina Games.

The Netherlands picked up its first gold of the Milan Cortina Games in speed skating, a sport it typically thrives in. Jutta Leerdam led a one-two Dutch finish in the women's 1,000 meters.

And Japan continued its dominance of the snowboard big air competitions when Kokomo Murase won gold in the women's event just two days after Kira Kimura did so in the men's event.

Silver: Eileen Gu (China) - 86.58

Bronze: Megan Oldham (Canada) - 76.46

Mathilde Gremaud beat out Eileen Gu for slopestyle gold for the second straight Winter Olympics.

The Swiss skier beat out Gu by 0.38 points in the scoring table.

Gremaud's victorious score occurred on her second run down the slopestyle course.

Gu held the advantage after one run, but she was unable to beat Gremaud's second-run score in her final attempt down the course. Gu fell on her last run and settled for silver.

Megan Oldham won Canada's second bronze medal of the Milan Cortina Games by 0.31 points over Great Britain's Kirsty Muir.

Silver: Austria (Vincent Kriechmayr/Manuel Feller)

Silver: Switzerland (Marco Odermatt/Loic Meillard)

Switzerland's Franjo von Allmen became the first dual gold winner at the 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday.

Von Allmen, who won the men's downhill on Saturday, was on the winning pair for the men's team combined event.

Von Allmen placed fourth in the downhill portion of the event. His teammate Tanguy Nef turned in the best time on the slalom course to clinch gold for the duo.

Austria and Switzerland landed in a tie for silver.

Austria's duo of Vincent Kriechmayr and Manuel Feller finished on the exact combined time as the Swiss pair of Marco Odermatt and Loic Meillard.

Switzerland started the alpine skiing program with two golds in three events. Three of its four medals earned so far have come in alpine skiing.

Speed Skating - Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics: Day 3

Gold: Jutta Leerdam (Netherlands) - 1:12.31

Silver: Femke Kok (Netherlands) - 1:12.59

Bronze: Miho Takagi (Japan) - 1:13.95

Jutta Leerdam set the Olympic record in her gold-medal skate in the women's 1,000 meters.

Leerdam completed a Dutch one-two with Femke Kok, who set the Olympic record herself minutes before Leerdam hit the ice.

Leerdam and Kok delivered the first two medals of the Milan Cortina Games for the Netherlands, who surprisingly missed out on medals in the first two events on the speed skating program.

Miho Takagi, the gold medalist in the event from Beijing, took bronze to give Japan its fifth medal of the Olympics.

American Brittany Bowe, who is competing in her final Olympics at 37, was just off the medal podium in fourth. Bowe still has a few events left on her Olympic program.

Freestyle Skiing - Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics: Day 3

Gold: Kokomo Murase (Japan) - 179.00

Silver: Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (New Zealand) - 172.25

Bronze: Yu Seungeun (Republic of Korea) - 171.00

Kokomo Murase saved her best for last in Monday's big air competition, and her best was good enough for the gold medal.

The Japanese snowboarder was sitting in medal position after the first two of three jumps but was looking up at New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski-Synnott in the race for gold. So Murase went for a massive score on that last jump with a medal already secured and landed it perfectly to capture gold in the event she won bronze in at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Sadowski-Synnott settled for silver as a result, while Yu Seungeun ended with the bronze.

It was more triumph for Japan in the snowboarding big air event, as Kira Kimura and Ryoma Kimata took home gold and silver in the men's competition.
