WWE Superstars in Danger of Missing WrestleMania 42

Donald WoodFeb 4, 2026

After a lackluster Royal Rumble, WWE started the Road to WrestleMania on the wrong foot, leaving several big names in danger of missing the company's biggest show of the year.

WrestleMania season should be a time of celebration, but with negativity surrounding the company's relationship with Saudi Arabia and the lack of plans for many popular performers, the WWE Universe enters February with more questions than answers.

As a result, here are the WWE Superstars in danger of missing WrestleMania 42.

Bianca Belair

One of the biggest disappointments of the 2026 Royal Rumble was the continued absence of Bianca Belair, who has been out of action since suffering a finger injury during her Triple Threat world title match at WrestleMania 41.

As one of the betting favorites leading into the women's Rumble match, the fact that she wasn't in the Battle Royal is a bad sign for her availability for the Road to WrestleMania 42.

Reports had surfaced at the end of 2025 that Belair would soon be completing her rehabilitation process, but time is running out for The EST of WWE to make an impact on WrestleMania season.

If Belair misses Elimination Chamber, she is almost guaranteed to miss WrestleMania 42.

LA Knight

One of the biggest issues with Triple H and the current creative process is the lack of willingness to listen to the fans when they organically want a Superstar pushed to the top of the card.

Look no further than LA Knight.

As one of the most popular performers on the main roster in recent months, The Megastar has drawn crowd reactions that rival Cody Rhodes, yet WWE has too often booked him to lose instead of giving him a sustained opportunity to show what he can do.

Knight has been featured in qualifying and contender matches on weekly television, including a world championship bout at Clash in Paris, but he has no storyline in place right now and no guaranteed 'Mania match.

Unless he wins at Elimination Chamber or starts a feud coming out of the premium live event, the popular performer could be on the outside looking in this WrestleMania season, unless he's thrown into a massive multi-person match at the last second.

Kevin Owens

Few performers deserve a massive 'Mania moment more than Kevin Owens, but it looks like the popular Superstar will need to wait another year, as he continues to recover from the neck surgery he underwent in 2025.

Owens spoke openly about his operation in August 2025:

"The surgery was successful. I had a great doctor. The thing is, now we have to see how the bones fuse, and there's no guarantee that it's going to work. You know, how my body heals. And we'll see. Some guys had success, some guys didn't. Fingers crossed I can come back to wrestling in the next year."

The problem now is getting a program started quickly enough to build hype before WrestleMania. KO should skip the men's Elimination Chamber match, as it is extremely violent and could be detrimental to his recovery.

While Owens' return before The Show of Shows would make for a marquee moment, WWE should play it safe with his health and give the 41-year-old ample time to heal up properly and return when completely ready.
