Fatu Ready to Upset Reigns, More Raw Fallout 👀
Following his performance in the men's Royal Rumble match over the weekend, some popular theories have emerged regarding plans for Brock Lesnar moving forward, but nothing is reportedly set in stone yet.
Lesnar had a showdown with Oba Femi during the Rumble and ultimately eliminated the young upstart, leading to speculation that Lesnar vs. Femi is on tap for WrestleMania 42 in April.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Lesnar vs. Femi "could happen" on the Grandest Stage of Them All, but it is "not 100 percent."
Back in December, John Cena made a comment that suggested Lesnar could potentially wrestle his final match at SummerSlam 2026 in Minnesota, which is where he went to college.
During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Cena explained his squash loss to Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, saying, "So what do you do? You gotta figure out who gets the shine that night. From my perspective, if the idea is that we're building him up again before he rides into the sunset—maybe in Minnesota—then creatively, yeah, it's going to happen fast. To give someone a mountain to climb, you gotta build that mountain."
There has been no confirmation regarding Lesnar potentially having his retirement bout at SummerSlam, but Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News) reported this week that it was expected at the start of 2026 that Lesnar would be part of SummerSlam.
However, Sapp added that he is unsure if there are any plans for a retirement angle.
If WWE and Lesnar do want to run a retirement match at SummerSlam, Gunther would be a sensible opponent since he has beaten Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles in their retirement matches over the past several months.
Reported Details on Vaquer's Theme Song
While making her entrance for the Philadelphia Street Fight against Raquel Rodriguez on Monday night's episode of Raw, women's world champion Stephanie Vaquer debuted a new theme song.
In response to the change, Sapp reported that Vaquer "LOVED" her previous theme song, which she used ever since joining WWE in 2024.
Last year, during an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet (h/t Mukherjee), Vaquer divulged that WWE wanted to change her theme went she went from NXT to the main roster, prompting her to appeal to WWE Hall of Famer and NXT head Shawn Michaels.
"I remember when I went to Raw, they wanted to change my music," Vaquer said. "But I fought hard. I talked to Shawn Michaels and said, 'Shawn, please, I love my music. I don't want it to change.' Shawn said, 'Okay, let me see what I can do.'"
Michaels' influence seemingly allowed Vaquer to keep her theme at first, but the change finally occurred this week on Raw.
It is unclear how Vaquer feels about her new theme, but the change didn't impact her in-ring performance.
La Primera and Rodriguez went to battle in a hard-hitting affair on Raw, and Vaquer came out on top after botched interference from Judgment Day members Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez.
However, Morgan attacked Vaquer after the match, seemingly indicating that the 2026 women's Royal Rumble winner plans to challenge Vaquer for the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania 42.
Ciampa Reportedly Left WWE on Good Terms
Despite leaving for a rival promotion, there are reportedly no hard feelings between Tommaso Ciampa and WWE.
Sapp (h/t Carrier) reported this week that he doesn't believe WWE head of creative Triple H is "angry" about Ciampa departing WWE for AEW. Sapp added, "Everything that I've heard was that the departure was amicable, and that Tommaso Ciampa was well liked in WWE."
Ciampa spent a decade in WWE, winning the NXT Championship and WWE Tag Team Championships two times each.
However, he announced last month that his WWE contract was expiring, and it wasn't long before Ciampa showed up in AEW, debuting on the Jan. 28 episode of Dynamite.
Going by his old "Psycho Killer" nickname, Ciampa confronted TNT champion Mark Briscoe, setting up a title match between them on the Jan. 31 edition of Collision.
In his first AEW match, Ciampa beat Briscoe for the TNT Championship, instantly vindicating his decision to bet on himself and leave WWE.
Ciampa enjoyed a great deal of success in WWE over the years, though, and Sapp's report suggests the door could be open for him to return at some point down the line if he so desires.
