Sam Bradford Injury: Updates on Eagles Star's Ankle and Return
When the Philadelphia Eagles acquired Sam Bradford, they knew the risk they were taking regarding the veteran quarterback's injury history. The signal-caller suffered his first setback after spraining his ankle during the regular-season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News (via Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advance Media).
However, Bradford was not listed on the team's injury report for Week 2, according to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, and he was not listed among the team's inactive players announced by the Eagles.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported on Sept. 16 that Bradford looked "fine" in warm-ups and noted the quarterback had no brace or sleeve on the ankle.

"Didn't hurt, wasn't sore," Bradford said after practice, per McLane. "I think it was just the doc taking a precaution." However, Shorr-Parks noted the quarterback's ankle looked swollen and needed extra tape after practice.
On Sept. 15, Bradford said he was "perfectly fine" after undergoing X-rays on his injured ankle, according to Shorr-Parks.
While Bradford has shown promise on the field in previous years, he has never been able to consistently remain healthy. Only twice in five seasons has he played a full 16 games. Bradford missed six games in 2011 and nine games in 2013. Then, he tore his ACL in last year's preseason, wiping out his entire 2014 campaign.
Bradford is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, and he's not going to draw a ton of interest if teams cannot convince themselves he can stay on the field.
