WWE Tough Enough 2015: Recap, Reaction and Elimination from August 4
We're getting close to the end of what has been a pretty ridiculous competition thus far. If you read the reactions to the show on social media, you would see that most people either don't think the competition is legitimate or simply detest the way it is being run.
The eliminations of Patrick, Mada and Daria were especially hard for everyone to swallow, and the way Amanda was saved last week really upset a lot of people.
The drama between the contestants has been the focal point for much of the competition, which as we all know has nothing to do with picking the best wrestler.

Hopefully, the eventual winners step up and make the best of the opportunity they will have. Otherwise, they'll risk being released before ever getting the chance to debut like Andy Leavine.
Week 7's Challenges
Billy Gunn put everyone through some tough cardio workouts to get things rolling. When ZZ looked like he was going to puke after only two minutes, Gunn yelled at him to get out of his ring.
The next activity involved stringing together several basic maneuvers they had learned up to this point in the competition. Once again, ZZ had the most issues.
Giorgia complained about almost being slammed on her head by Sara, even going as far as to say she could have been paralyzed. It didn't look as bad as she made it out to be.
Chelsea was trying too hard to sell during the exercise instead of just doing the moves as instructed, and the coaches got on her for it. At the end of the day, Tanner and Josh got the biggest props.
The second weekly competition involved the seven remaining contestants going through some firefighter training with Titus O'Neil and Darren Young.
For once, ZZ was able to shine. He noted his experience as a volunteer firefighter, and it clearly helped him guide his team through the challenge.
Everyone came together to work hard and get things done. It was nice to see them all on the same page for once. Everyone was split up into two groups for this challenge, with ZZ, Tanner, Amanda and Chelsea being named the winners.
In the Studio and Back at the Barracks
The Miz appears to be a permanent addition to the judges' table as he joined Daniel Bryan and Paige once again.
The show started off a little differently this week. The contestants were on the stage from the moment the episode started and the judges had a few comments for them before we even got to see any of the competitions from the past seven days.
Once the competitors returned to the barracks following last week's show, the drama started up immediately. Amanda took some flack for being saved because she was hot, but that was nothing compared to the tantrum ZZ threw.
The gator wrestler is normally a very reserved person, but he showed frustration at being called fat and lazy. He told the other competitors who thought he should have been eliminated not to speak to him and act like he was already gone.
One thing that was kind of funny was Josh giving Tanner advice on how to hit on women. Seeing a moment of bonding instead of fighting helped lighten things up a bit.
When it was time for the judges to grill the contestants, The Miz said he was worried his comment about Amanda being hot went to her head and he was going to put her in the bottom three because of it.
Paige laid into Chelsea for trying to sell before she was taught how to, and when Chelsea tried to offer an explanation, Paige shut her down.
Week 7 Elimination: Chelsea
When it came time to pick the bottom three, Bryan chose Giorgia for overreacting to being slammed by Sara, Paige picked Sara for not saying she was sorry to Giorgia and The Miz changed his mind about nominating Amanda and put Chelsea up for elimination.
Given how much criticism he received from the coaches, it was surprising that nobody singled out ZZ. For the first time this season, three women were on the chopping block.
During the 30-second pleas, Sara finally apologized to Giorgia and said she would never intentionally put anyone else at risk. Giorgia and Chelsea basically gave the same speech about how this is what they want to do and how they deserve to be in WWE.
For the second week in a row, a judge opted to use a save. Paige chose to keep Giorgia in the competition, which is lucky for her because she received the lowest number of votes and would have been sent home.
Chelsea's short journey on the show came to an end after Sara received an astounding 53 percent of the votes. The people in attendance seemed surprised by the outcome, but after seeing the number of votes Sara receives every time she is in the bottom three, it wasn't that shocking.
Tough Talk
The Miz was the target of some criticism at the top of the show. Paige said she would have put Amanda in the bottom three had The Miz not said he was going to nominate her and then changed his mind. It didn't seem like Bryan was very happy about how things went down based on the look on his face.
Paige had some rough words for Amanda and basically promised to nominate her for the bottom three next week if she doesn't step up.
Bryan and The Miz called Giorgia out for being a drama queen and manipulative person. They also questioned Paige's choice to use her one save on Gigi.
For the first time in this competition, Bryan showed some anger. He doesn't care about the reality show aspect of the program. He genuinely wants to make sure the best person wins, and based on comments from the other judges, he's the only one who feels that way.
The interesting thing was how The Miz brought up that this is a popularity contest, and because of that, ZZ will keep getting saved. Bryan joined in and the two of them put ZZ on the spot by bringing up his lack of passion and work ethic.
ZZ was at a loss for words and gave some generic answers about following your heart. It didn't seem to convince anyone that he was serious about committing to getting in better shape.
Interesting Tidbits
- Did it seem to anyone else like the show was edited to make ZZ look bad in the hopes of turning the fans against him? Yes, he had the most problems, but it felt like a lot of focus was put on his issues instead of giving equal screen time to everyone.
- For the first time ever, Renee Young tripped over her words a bit. She is usually perfect in her presentation.
- It could just be the way the show is edited, but it seems like the women do not get along at all and the men are becoming closer as time goes on.
- Josh has lost 35 pounds since the competition started. That's an average of five pounds a week. He definitely looks like he is slimmer now than he was in Week 1.
- Chelsea has only been training to be a wrestler for two years. She needs to stop acting like she is a veteran compared to everyone else.
- Chris Jericho always leaves one person out when he asks the contestants who should be going home. It makes no sense.
- It was cool to hear The Miz bring up Daniel Puder.
- ZZ's charm seems to have worn off when it comes to the judges. We'll have to wait until he is back in the bottom three to see if the fans feel the same way.
Final Thoughts
This show is becoming more of a joke every week. Chelsea might be a little stuck up about her wrestling experience, but she was the least deserving of elimination.
Sara and ZZ keep being saved for some reason that is beyond comprehension. No matter how badly they perform, the fans still love them.
It was great to see Bryan finally start showing some fire and start calling people out for being fake and not putting everything they have into the competition.
We are now down to three men and three women. There are three episodes left in the season, which means we will likely see one more from each group eliminated before the finale.
What WWE needs to do is put the final decision in the hands of the judges, because if the fans are allowed to pick the winners, ZZ and Sara have this thing locked down.
