Chloe Kim Updates 2026 Winter Olympic Status After Torn Labrum Injury
Chloe Kim is "good to go" for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.
Kim detailed the results of an MRI on her injured shoulder on Tuesday in an Instagram post and confirmed she suffered a torn labrum that requires her to wear a shoulder brace. However, she also said the injury she suffered during training will not keep her sidelined through the Games.

"I'm so grateful that I will be good to go for the Olympics," she said.
The injury will prevent her from competing in the LAAX Open.
"Obviously, I'm really disappointed that I can't snowboard until right before the Olympics, which is going to be hard," Kim said. "I haven't gotten nearly the amount of reps that I would have liked, but that's OK.
"You know, it's funny, I've been doing this for so long and every season I am met with a different set of challenges—so I guess this is going to be the one this year."
Jumping right back into snowboarding shortly before next month's Olympics will certainly be challenging, but her track record suggests she will still be among the top medal threats.
After all, she won the gold medal in the women's halfpipe at the PyeongChang 2018 Games and then repeated as champion at the Beijing 2022 Games.
She is considered one of the greatest snowboarders in history and even became the youngest-ever title winner when she won the superpipe in the 2015 X Games at just 14 years old.
That Kim will be overcoming a serious injury could close the gap on the competition, but she surely expects to take home gold for a third straight Olympics.
