Chloe Kim Reveals Shoulder Injury Ahead of 2026 Winter Olympics, Shares Video of Fall at Training
Two-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Chloe Kim dislocated her shoulder after falling in practice less than a month before the start of the 2026 Winter Games in Milan and Cortina, the Team USA star revealed in a video posted Thursday to her Instagram.
The fall took place in Switzerland while Kim was training on the halfpipe, the event in which she had won three world titles and two Olympic golds.
Kim said in the video she is "trying to stay really optimistic" ahead of the February start of Olympic snowboarding competition, but said she won't know more until she undergoes an MRI on Friday.

"I just don't want it to keep popping out, which has happened... I feel really good about where my snowboarding is at right now, so I know that the minute that I get cleared and I'm good to go, I should be fine," Kim said.
The incident took place less than a month after Kim pulled out of the Dec. 19 final of her most recent competition, the U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, following a fall during practice.
The 25-year-old is looking to earn the halfpipe gold medal after winning the event at both the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Games.
A victory in the event this February would make Kim the first woman Olympian in history to earn three straight gold medals in the event.
Kim has just over a month before Olympic halfpipe competition is set to begin on Feb. 11 at Livigno Snow Park in Italy.
