
Olympic Skateboarder Nyjah Huston Reveals Horrific Injuries from 'Death Defying' Rail
Olympic bronze medalist Nyjah Huston cautioned fans his profession isn't for the faint of heart.
In an Instagram post Monday, Huston detailed a serious accident he recently had during a session.
"A harsh reminder how death defying skating massive rails can be," he wrote while including pictures from the hospital and as he was receiving treatment. "Fractured skull, fractured eye socket. Taking it one day at a time. I hope yall had a better new years then me. We live to fight another day."

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, Ryan Sheckler and 2022 street skating world champion Gustavo Ribeiro were among those who offered well-wishes in the comment section of Huston's post.
"Heavy. Stay strong; we know you'll be back," Hawk said.
Huston is one of the most recognizable skateboarders in the world. He has seven gold medals in the World Championships and another 13 golds in the Summer X Games.
The 31-year-old made his Olympics debut in 2020 after skateboarding was added to the event's program for the first time ever. He finished a disappointing seventh in the street final before getting onto the podium in the 2024 Summer Games.
The California native will be eager to achieve even more when the Olympics head to Los Angeles in 2028.
