Sweden def. Finland, 4-3

Czechia def. Canada, 6-4

Sweden 4, Finland 3

There was no shortage of excitement in the first game of the night between Sweden and Finland.

Sweden went up 1-0 just seconds into the game, but things were all evened up at the end of the first period. The two teams traded goals early in the second period before Eddie Genborg, who was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 NHL draft, gave Sweden a 3-2 lead.

Finland was desperate for a goal late in the third period, and they got what they needed when Joona Saarelainen, a Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick, evened things up at 3-3, setting up a shootout to decide the game.

After a pair of goals from both squads, Sweden's Anton Frondell, drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2025, won it.

"I blacked out," Frondell said, per NHL.com. "It was an amazing feeling. Third time. I had three tries, so happy the last one went in."

Czechia 6, Canada 4

Much like the first game of the night, Czechia and Canada also did not disappoint.

The first period was quiet for the most part until Canada got its first goal of the night. The Czechs evened things up just over a minute later before taking a 2-1 lead early in the second period.

Canada's Zayne Parekh, who has had an outstanding tournament with five goals, tied it at two apiece later on the second period, but Czechia once again took the lead late in the period.

Canada found an answer and made it an even score in the third period, but the tie didn't last long as Vojtěch Čihař scored a go-ahead goal with just over 10 minutes to play.

The chaos continued in the final three minutes. Canada tied things up at the 2:40 mark in the third period and had several opportunities to take the lead, but Czechia regained the lead with just over a minute to play.

Czechia took advantage of an empty net to seal the win and punch their ticket to the championship game.
