On3's Pete Nakos previously reported that LSU, Baylor and Miami were "among the early schools to watch for Lagway."
Lagway completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 2,264 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while leading Florida to a 4-8 record during his sophomore season.
He has posted a 62 percent completion rate while recording 4,179 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 23 interceptions over two seasons.
The Gators marked a 12-13 record over that span, including wins over FSU during the rivalry matchup in Tallahassee in 2024 and Gainesville in 2025.
247Sports' Zach Blostein reported that Lagway's father, Derek Lagway Sr., had confirmed his son's visit to Florida State earlier Sunday to Noles247.com.
According to Blostein, Lagway's father said the quarterback planned "to visit several other programs" in addition to FSU.
Lagway isn't the only quarterback expected to visit FSU in the near future. Former UVA and UNLV signal caller Anthony Colandrea is also scheduled to visit FSU on Sunday, per Thamel.
These visits will take place shortly after FSU's announcement that the program had for the first time hired a general manager to oversee the football team's roster development.
John Garrett, a former FSU offensive scout who helped build Duke's roster over the last two seasons, will be the first person to serve in the rule.
Garrett will now be tasked with finding a replacement for Thomas Castellanos, who ended an appeal for another season of college eligibility to declare for the NFL draft.
Quarterback won't be the only position the Seminoles are targeting in the portal.
The program will also need to find a replacement for starting running back Gavin Sawchuk following the news that he is entering the portal after one season at FSU.
CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported that Texas transfer Quintrevion Wisner is among the players visiting Florida State on Sunday.
