Arsenal Transfer News: Marco Reus 'Flattered' by Interest, Julian Draxler Latest
Latest reports indicate Arsenal will look to Germany in their pursuit of attacking recruits this summer, but the north Londoners have received mixed news on the availability of Marco Reus and Julian Draxler.
Sports Total, the agency that represents Reus and a long list of other Bundesliga stars, have told Italian website Tuttojuve.com that while Reus appreciates the attention, he won't capitalise on it any time soon, per Anthony Chapman of the Daily Express:
"We read the rumours that are circulating about an alleged transfer for Marco. We can say with certainty that the player is having a wonderful time at Dortmund. He is flattered by the interest of many European teams but he's recently decided to stay in Dortmund.
"

Speculation was afoot that Reus would be on the move this summer, but after penning a four-year contract extension in February of this year, it looks as though his loyalty remains at Signal Iduna Park.
The Gunners have been one of the most closely linked clubs regarding any possibility of Reus moving, but Squawka's Greg Johnson identifies the forward's injury past as an obstacle:
Arsenal chief Arsene Wenger has already had to deal with severe absences in his attacking roster over recent years, with Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott among those to endure lengthy lay-offs of late.
Reus made just 20 Bundesliga appearances for the Black and Yellows last season, but Bleacher Report's Stefan Bienkowski believes he'll have a triumphant campaign under new Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel:
Jurgen Klopp's departure from the club's helm was another factor in seeing speculation rise that Reus could leave Dortmund, but his representatives have moved to dismiss any rumours of an exit.
Tuchel has a difficult task on his hands in steering Borussia Dortmund back into the German hierarchy this term, and Reus' influence is sure to be a determining factor following last season's seventh-place finish.
Juventus' Loss Could Be Gunners' Gain

Just as it seemed as though Juventus had stolen in to secure the services of Schalke star Julian Draxler, Arsenal can count themselves among his suitors once more following a stumble in negotiations.
That's according to the Telegraph, with reports emerging that the Serie A giants had seen a £15.6 million bid for the winger rejected this week. Miners manager Horst Heldt was quoted by the club's official Twitter account confirming the news:
Furthermore, Heldt went on to say that Schalke "have informed Juventus we are not open to any further talks," per ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell, possibly opening the door for Arsenal to make their move.
As Gladwell states, Schalke gave Draxler permission to speak to Juve, and the two parties had even agreed on personal terms, but it appears the Bianconeri were a long way off in their valuation of the player.
Draxler has been perfecting his craft out wide at the Veltins-Arena, but it was in a No. 10 role that the 21-year-old first made his mark in Germany.
GianlucaDiMarzio.com translator David Amoyal reported Draxler initially asked to match the pay packet of Italy stalwart Gianluigi Buffon, adding that Juve's deal may not yet be as dead as it appears:
A move to the Emirates Stadium would see Draxler competing with the likes of compatriot Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Walcott for playing time, presenting better title prospects than are on offer at Schalke.
Wenger will be confident his side have the spending ability to tempt the Germans after club director Lord Harris was quoted by the Daily Mail's Nik Simon recently as saying Arsenal "could probably buy any player in the world."
