John Cena Gets Tribute From Reigns, Punk, Lesnar, More in Video Before WWE Retirement

Mike ChiariDec 11, 2025

The WWE roster honored John Cena on Thursday in a tribute video posted on WWE's official YouTube channel.

In the video, which features virtually every member of the current WWE roster, a montage of Cena's career highlights were shown, along with WWE Superstars doing some of Cena's signature taunts, such as the salute and the "You can't see me."

Most of Cena's greatest rivals, including CM Punk, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, were featured in the latter portion of the video.

Punk was shown sitting cross-legged backstage, while waving his hand in front of his face, just like Cena has long done before executive the Five-Knuckle Shuffle.

That happened to be the same way Punk sat at the top of the stage when he delivered the famous "Pipe Bomb Promo" while Cena was in the ring in 2011. Punk later went on to beat Cena for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank 2011 in one of the greatest matches of their respective careers.

Lesnar dismissively held up a sign that said, "I can see you," in the video before throwing it down.

It effectively played off the Beast Incarnate's lone wolf mentality, as well as his status as arguably Cena's greatest kryptonite since he beat him in dominant fashion on a few occasions, including SummerSlam 2014 and Wrestlepalooza this year.

Reigns closed out the video, which was fitting since Cena has gone on record as calling Reigns the greatest wrestler of all time.

The Tribal Chief, who scored memorable victories over Cena at No Mercy 2017 and SummerSlam 2021, held up a sign that read, "Thank you John," before saluting the camera.

Saturday will mark the final match of Cena's illustrious career, as the record-setting, 17-time world champion will take on Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Cena announced last year that 2025 would be his final year as an active wrestler, which gave fans an entire year to show their appreciation for all he has done over the years.

His colleagues did the same on Thursday, setting the stage for an emotional farewell in Washington, D.C.
