Way-Too-Early WWE WrestleMania 42 Card Predictions After Survivor Series Results
The road to WrestleMania 42 is not quite upon us yet, but with WWE's last premium live event of 2025 done, The Show of Shows is already on fans' minds.
Saturday's Survivor Series closed up multiple big stories while teasing what is coming next.
Cody Rhodes and CM Punk hold the top men's world championships in WWE and have plenty of fresh challengers on the horizon.
Stephanie Vaquer and Jade Cargill await the next competitors to step up and challenge them for the women's world titles.
The following is a way-too-early prediction for the WrestleMania 42 card.
Night 1 Undercard
1 of 6United States Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn vs. Solo Sikoa
Since winning the United States Championship, Ilja Dragunov has looked unstoppable. He is stealing the show week after week against the undercard of WWE, waiting for bigger names to step up.
At this point, those names have yet to fully materialize as only Tama Tonga and Tommaso Ciampa are waiting on shots, but this is a good spot to throw in some of WWE's favorites without another spot at 'Mania.
Women's Intercontinental Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Liv Morgan
Maxxine Dupri winning her first title in WWE was a nice feel-good story, but was it the answer for WrestleMania?
The Women's Intercontinental Championship has a solid lineage so far, and it would make more sense for Perez to keep that legacy going by dethroning Dupri on the road to WrestleMania.
This sets the stage for her long-awaited collision with the recently returned Morgan with extra stakes.
WWE Tag Team Championships Bloodline Rules: The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. The MFTs
How long can WWE sustain this rivalry between The Wyatt Sicks and MFTs that has slow burned for over a month already without a match?
When it comes to this modern WWE, never underestimate the company's overwhelming patience, even if the hype dissipates in the meantime.
This is a good spot to get the tag titles on the card unlike last year, especially with a wild stipulation that can get both "families" involved in full force.
Night 1 Featured Matches
2 of 6
Brock Lesnar vs. Gunther
This has no backing from the current product, but Brock Lesnar will make the WrestleMania 42 card against someone who can stand up to him.
Most of the men in the WarGames match will be preoccupied, so the baddest man who could step up will be The Ring General. This is an easy match to sell no matter how long it goes once the bell rings.
Women's Tag Team Championships, Street Fight: Kabuki Warriors (c) vs. Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky
This may be the biggest women's tag division feud WWE has ever produced, and it only makes sense for WWE to make the most of it.
While the stipulation is in flux, the goal should be for these teams to collide with no restrictions, brawling to prove who is better and put a definitive end to their rivalry at 'Mania.
WWE Women's Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Bianca Belair
Since winning the title, Jade Cargill has been spinning her wheels. No one seems excited about stepping up to challenge her.
This likely indicates the biggest threat to her is not currently available. While Charlotte Flair could be the first up for Cargill, Bianca Belair remains the money match for The Storm.
Night 1 Main Event, World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Bron Breakker
3 of 6
In October, Seth Rollins was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship due to a legitimate shoulder injury that seems likely to keep him out beyond WrestleMania 42.
Before his injury, all signs pointed to The Visionary colliding with his greatest rival for the first time one-on-one at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns.
Now, the World Heavyweight Championship is in the hands of CM Punk.
Before Survivor Series, the possibility of Punk vs. Reigns was intriguing, but it was not the match WWE was most teasing on the road to WrestleMania.
That would be Punk colliding with The Vision's new top man, Bron Breakker.
The Badass took it upon himself to eliminate Rollins and put him on the shelf. He wanted to take his place as world heavyweight champion.
While his ascension looks to be a bit delayed, pinning The Best in the World in WarGames has to set him up strongly for a 'Mania title push.
The only possible way this does not happen at The Show of Shows would be if the announced match between these two men on the first Raw of 2026 leads to a title change.
However, that would not be as impactful as Breakker winning the men's Rumble match and calling his shot at Punk for a main event at 'Mania 42.
Raw has often ended its main events with disqualifications or no contests, so it would make sense for Punk vs Breakker on Raw to be only a preview for the 'Mania clash to come.
This all sets the stage for Breakker to be crowned as the leading star of the next generation, taking over as Raw's top man and awaiting an angry avenging Visionary to come back for his gold.
Night 2 Undercard
4 of 6
Women's United States Championship Ladder Match: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia
Nothing is clear for the Women's United States Championship at this time, so why not predict multiple names who could challenge for the gold.
A match like this gets more women on the card and adds some relevance to a title WWE has mostly underserved since its arrival in 2025. This could help elevate Green or at least get the belt on someone WWE cares to push more.
World Tag Team Championships: AJ Styles and Dragon Lee (c) vs. The Lucha Brothers
It did not originally look like Styles and Dragon were a good match for one another, but they have quickly gelled into one of WWE's best tag teams.
Meanwhile, while Penta and Rey Fénix prepare to team together again in AAA, signs point to them uniting on the WWE roster as well.
Why not have the debut Lucha Bros match at 'Mania against WWE's most exciting new tag team? This would be a highlight-reel match and gives Styles a solid spotlight for his likely final WrestleMania.
Randy Orton vs. Logan Paul
No one is going to keep Randy Orton off WrestleMania, but his road to the show is rocky as his has been on a recent hiatus.
The most obvious answer would be to pair him with Logan Paul again. While the two have collided before, they have not fought one-on-one and were in conflict last time both were on television.
Night 2 Featured Matches
5 of 6
Women's World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Becky Lynch
All signs point to AJ Lee's true singles return match to happen against The Man, but it is unlikely WWE would wait for that all the way to WrestleMania.
La Primera needs a big name to fight at The Show of Shows, and no one makes more sense than the woman with the most heat in all of WWE: Lynch. This would be an easy match to sell.
The Usos vs. Bronson Reed and a Mystery Contender
The Usos vs. The Vision is one of WWE's biggest stories, and a tag team match at WrestleMania 42 would make sense.
However, with Bron Breakker occupied in his quest for the World Heavyweight Championship, the next-best option would be to reveal who helped The Vision at Survivor Series.
Whoever they are can start building themselves as a threat to all of The Vision's enemies until he and Reed collide with one of the all-time great tag teams at 'Mania.
Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Finn Bálor
Is it still too soon to call for the end of The Judgment Day? Since last year's 'Mania collision where Dirty Dom won the gold by stealing Bálor's pin, all signs have pointed to these supposed friends colliding.
The Irishman has conspired against Mysterio and looked to take his title. That is a match that would fit perfectly on The Show of Shows.
If this matchup is not to WWE's liking on its own, Rey Mysterio could also get involved in what would certainly be a great Triple Threat.
Night 2 Main Event WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Roman Reigns
6 of 6Do fans want to see Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns collide for the third time at WrestleMania? Probably not.
It is a retread from 'Mania 39 and 40 where neither man has advanced enough as a character to sell a fresh dynamic.
While The OTC is a fully established babyface, he is still basically the same star he always has been. He is the man fans want to see rather one they are actively rooting for based on his actions.
The American Nightmare's title reign is floating, and it would be more interesting to have Drew McIntyre dethrone him on the way to The Show of Shows.
However, any name placed in this position that is not Rhodes or Reigns feels unrealistic. They are the box-office attractions.
Unless The Rock was ready to get back in the ring to fight Rhodes, which looks highly unlikely, Reigns is the only man on the list of challengers WWE will deem worthy of the spot.
