B/R's 2025 College Football Experts Top 25 Rankings After Week 11
The Week 11 college football slate was highlighted by a showdown of Big 12 top dogs as Texas Tech handed BYU its first loss, while Virginia and Louisville both suffered their second losses of the season in upset fashion to throw the ACC into chaos.
Saturday had a chance to be even more landscape-altering, but Indiana (at Penn State) and Oregon (at Iowa) both managed to escape with game-winning scores inside the final minute of regulation.
Now it's time for Bleacher Report's updated top 25 ranking after all the Week 11 action, with the college football writing staff of David Kenyon, Adam Kramer, Joel Reuter and Brad Shepard making up our voting panel.
Let the debate begin!
Nos. 25-21
1 of 11
25. Missouri (6-3, Previous Rank: 19)
Week 11 Result: Loss vs. Texas A&M (17-38)
Next Week: vs. Mississippi State
The Tigers managed just 77 passing yards and 284 yards of total offense en route to their third SEC loss of the season, though it was their first lopsided defeat as they hung right with Alabama (27-24) and Vanderbilt (17-10). Jamal Roberts (17 carries, 110 yards, TD) and Ahmad Hardy (13 carries, 109 yards, TD) both had big games on the ground, but a pair of lost fumbles turned into 10 points for the Aggies, who led the entire game.
24. South Florida (7-2, Previous Rank: NR)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. UTSA (55-23)
Next Week: at Navy
The Bulls rebounded from a road loss to Memphis with a lopsided victory over UTSA, a week after the Roadrunners threw a wrench in the Group of Five picture with an upset win over Tulane. Byrum Brown was his usual dynamic self, logging 239 passing yards, 109 rushing yards and three total touchdowns, while Nykahi Davenport added 94 yards and two scores on the ground. Next week's road matchup against Navy will serve as an elimination game in the playoff race.
23. North Texas (8-1, Previous Rank: 25)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at UAB
Tulane upsetting Memphis on Friday night could end up benefiting the Mean Green as much as anyone, as they now have a solid case for the top spot among Group of Five teams. They handed Navy its first loss in Week 10, and the only blemish on their resume came against a good South Florida team that has since suffered a second loss. Wins against UAB, Rice and Temple to close out the season could put them in the driver's seat for the Group of Five playoff spot.
22. Miami (7-2, Previous Rank: NR)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. Syracuse (38-10)
Next Week: vs. NC State
The Hurricanes playoff hopes were dealt a major blow last weekend when SMU handed them their second loss of the season, but they bounced back with a convincing win against Syracuse as they look to end the season on a high note. Carson Beck had an efficient game under center, completing 18-of-24 pass attempts for 247 yards and a touchdown, and the defense did its part by forcing three turnovers.
21. Cincinnati (7-2, Previous Rank: 23)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: vs. Arizona
After back-to-back losing seasons after joining the Big 12, Cincinnati has been one of the nation's biggest surprises this year, ripping off seven straight wins between a season-opening loss to Nebraska and a blowout defeat at Utah last weekend. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby has thrown for 2,064 yards with 21 touchdowns and only two interceptions, and he has also chipped in 453 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground.
Nos. 20-16
2 of 11
20. Pittsburgh (7-2, Previous Rank: 24)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: vs. Notre Dame
The Panthers are 5-0 since Mason Heintschel took over as the starting quarterback in Week 6, with the 3-star true freshman piloting the offense to an impressive 200 points in those five games. They have raised their stock considerably in recent weeks, but their three hardest games are still on the horizon with Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Miami to close out the regular season.
19. Louisville (7-2, Previous Rank: 12)
Week 11 Result: Loss vs. California (26-29, OT)
Next Week: vs. Clemson
After Louisville settled for a field goal in overtime, the Golden Bears went for the win on fourth down from the three yard line and delivered, handing the Cardinals a surprising second loss of the season and throwing the ACC picture into further chaos. The defense allowed a season-high 427 total yards, including a 323-yard, two-touchdown performance from Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele through the air.
18. Virginia (8-2, Previous Rank: 10)
Week 11 Result: Loss vs. Wake Forest (9-16)
Next Week: at Duke
The Cavaliers were unable to overcome three turnovers, including a crucial fourth quarter fumble, and their 10-play, 53-yard final drive came to a halt at the Wake Forest five-yard line when they turned it over on downs. Quarterback Chandler Morris was knocked out of the game with an injury in the second quarter, and the offense managed just three points the rest of the way while finishing with a season-low 203 total yards.
17. USC (7-2, Previous Rank: 20)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. Northwestern (38-17)
Next Week: vs. Iowa
The Trojans outgained the Wildcats by a 482-280 margin in total yardage in a dominant showing on both sides of the football. Jayden Maiava threw for 299 yards with two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, King Miller logged his third 100-yard rushing performance in his last four games and the defense forced two turnovers while limiting the Wildcats to 4-of-12 on third down conversions.
16. Michigan (7-2, Previous Rank: 18)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at Northwestern
The Wolverines have won three straight since a lopsided loss on the road against USC in Week 7, and the regular-season finale against Ohio State on Nov. 29 looms large in their hopes of sneaking into the playoff field as a two-loss team unlikely to appear in the conference championship game. First things first, they can't overlook back-to-back road games against Northwestern and Maryland coming out of their Week 11 bye.
Nos. 15-11
3 of 11
15. Texas (7-2, Previous Rank: 17)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at Georgia
The Longhorns have won four straight since their disappointing 3-2 start to the year, with wins over then-No. 6 Oklahoma and then-No. 9 Vanderbilt during their winning streak. Maligned quarterback Arch Manning has strung together back-to-back 300-yard passing games against Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, with seven total touchdowns in those two games.
14. Utah (7-2, Previous Rank: 16)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at Baylor
Lopsided wins over Colorado (53-7) and Cincinnati (45-14) the last two weeks have vaulted the Utes back into the national picture, and their two losses this season came against the two Big 12 top dogs in Texas Tech and BYU. That gives them an uphill battle to claim a spot in the Big 12 championship game, but winning out could still put them in the mix for an at-large playoff bid.
13. Oklahoma (7-2, Previous Rank: 14)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at Alabama
The Sooners are 2-2 in their last four games after a 5-0 start to the year that saw them climb as high as No. 5 in the AP poll. That four-game stretch coincides with quarterback John Mateer returning from hand surgery, and after piling up 11 total touchdowns through his first four games, he has two passing touchdowns and four interceptions to go along with one rushing score in his last four. A road game against Alabama in Week 12 could make-or-break their playoff hopes.
12. Vanderbilt (8-2, Previous Rank: 15)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. Auburn (45-38, OT)
Next Week: BYE
Quarterback Diego Pavia had 377 passing yards, 112 rushing yards and four total touchdowns, including the go-ahead, four-yard strike to Cole Spence in overtime. The Commodores defense then forced a turnover on downs on the ensuing possession to seal the victory, giving them eight wins for the first time since 2013 when they finished 9-4. If they can beat Kentucky and Tennessee to close out the year, they will have the first 10-win season in school history.
11. Notre Dame (7-2, Previous Rank: 13)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. Navy (49-10)
Next Week: at Pittsburgh
The Fighting Irish defense kept Navy's triple-option rushing attack in check, limiting the Midshipmen to 206 rushing yards and 4.6 yards per carry while standout quarterback Blake Horvath watched from the sidelines with an injury. On offense, CJ Carr completed 13-of-16 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns, while Jeremiyah Love anchored the rushing attack with 94 yards and two scores.
Nos. 10-6
4 of 11
10. BYU (8-1, Previous Rank: 7)
Week 11 Result: Loss at Texas Tech (7-29)
Next Week: vs. TCU
The Cougars suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a stout Texas Tech defense, managing just 67 rushing yards on 27 carries while also losing three turnovers. Their lone points came in the fourth quarter with a 26-0 deficit already on the scoreboard, with Bear Bachmeier finding Chase Roberts with a six-year touchdown pass. Tough games against TCU and Cincinnati are up next as they look to avoid picking up a second loss that would likely knock them out of the playoff conversation.
9. Georgia Tech (8-1, Previous Rank: 11)
Week 11 Result: BYE
Next Week: at Boston College
The Yellow Jackets suffered their first loss of the season in Week 10 against NC State, but their eight wins are already their most since 2016, and they are still very much in the running for a spot in the ACC championship game. Dual-threat quarterback Haynes King has been one of the nation's most productive players, tallying 1,888 passing yards, 754 rushing yards and 23 total touchdowns.
8. Ole Miss (9-1, Previous Rank: 8)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. The Citadel (49-0)
Next Week: vs. Florida
A tip of the cap to The Citadel for covering a 51.5-point spread, though not by much, as Ole Miss allowed just 106 yards of total offense and limited the Bulldogs triple-option attack to 83 rushing yards on 42 carries. Trinidad Chambliss completed 29-of-33 pass attempts for 333 yards and three touchdowns before heading to the bench midway through the third quarter, while Kewan Lacey tallied three rushing touchdowns.
7. Texas Tech (9-1, Previous Rank: 9)
Week 11 Result: Win vs. BYU (29-7)
Next Week: vs. UCF
The Red Raiders defense held a potent BYU offense that entered the game averaging 433.4 yards and 36.2 points per game to just 255 yards and seven points while forcing three turnovers, cementing their status as top dogs in the Big 12 race in the process. Behren Morton threw for 219 yards and a touchdown, while Cameron Dickey had 23 carries for 121 yards and a score. All that stands between them and a spot in the Big 12 championship game are two of the worst teams in the conference in UCF and West Virginia.
6. Oregon (8-1, Previous Rank: 5)
Week 11 Result: Win at Iowa (18-16)
Next Week: vs. Minnesota
It wasn't pretty, but the Ducks escaped Iowa City with a win behind a 39-yard field goal from Atticus Sappington with three seconds remaining. Oregon leaned heavily on the running game in bad weather, carrying the ball 36 times for 261 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Dante Moore settled for 13-of-21 passing for 112 yards and an interception. The Ducks now have something of a reprieve against Minnesota at home next weekend before closing out the year with back-to-back tough games against USC and Washington.
5. Georgia Bulldogs (8-1, Previous Rank: 6)
5 of 11
Week 11 Result: Win at Mississippi State (41-21)
Next Week: vs. Texas
Georgia allowed a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, then rattled off 38 unanswered points to coast to victory against a Mississippi State team that fell to 1-5 in SEC play.
Gunner Stockton threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns, while Nate Frazier had 12 carries for 181 yards and a score to lead a rushing attack that tallied a season-high 303 yards on 44 carries.
Texas comes to town next weekend in their final conference game of the year.
4. Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1, Previous Rank: 4)
6 of 11
Week 11 Result: Win vs. LSU (20-9)
Next Week: vs. Oklahoma
A pair of second quarter touchdowns gave the Crimson Tide a 17-3 halftime lead, and that held up in a game that saw LSU bench quarterback Garrett Nussmeier but still fail to find the end zone for their third straight loss.
Ty Simpson threw for 277 yards and a touchdown, connecting on several chunk plays down field, while the defense recorded seven tackles for loss and three sacks to help keep the LSU offense from building any momentum.
Another marquee matchup against Oklahoma awaits next weekend, before a cupcake against Eastern Illinois and the Iron Bowl close out the regular-season schedule.
3. Texas A&M Aggies (9-0, Previous Rank: 3)
7 of 11
Week 11 Result: Win at Missouri (38-17)
Next Week: vs. South Carolina
The Aggies scored the first 21 points of the game en route to their third road win of the season against a ranked opponent, as they previously bested then-No. 8 Notre Dame and then-No. 20 LSU.
Marcel Reed threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while Rueben Owens II had 102 rushing yards and two scores of his own, as the offense racked up 464 total yards.
Home games against South Carolina and Samford and a road game against Texas are now all that separate the Aggies from an undefeated regular season.
2. Indiana Hoosiers (10-0, Previous Rank: 2)
8 of 11
Week 11 Result: Win at Penn State (27-24)
Next Week: vs. Wisconsin
The Hoosiers took the best punch the Nittany Lions had at this point in a lost season and managed to pull out the victory, with Fernando Mendoza leading a 10-play, 80-yard drive that culminated in the game-winning touchdown throw to Omar Cooper Jr. with 36 seconds remaining.
The Indiana defense allowed 17 unanswered points in the second half en route to a season-high 24 points allowed, but also helped swing the outcome with two takeaways.
Up next, a Wisconsin defense that was torched on the ground by Iowa (210 yards, 4 TD) in Week 7 and Oregon (203 yards, 2 TD) in Week 9.
1. Ohio State Buckeyes (9-0, Previous Rank: 1)
9 of 11
Week 11 Result: Win at Purdue (34-10)
Next Week: vs. UCLA
After punting on their first drive of the game and briefly trailing 3-0 in the first quarter, the Buckeyes seized control with 24 unanswered points in the second quarter. That paved the way for their sixth win of the season by 20 or more points, and should keep them in the No. 1 spot in the AP poll after Indiana was pushed to the limit by Penn State.
Julian Sayin threw for 303 yards and a touchdown, but the running game shouldered the load with 43 carries for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
Home games against UCLA and Rutgers should provide a relatively clear path to an 11-0 record heading into the Michigan game.

What's Next
11 of 11
A pair of heavyweight clashes in the SEC headline Week 12 action, but there are some other big games on the schedule that could have a major impact on the College Football Playoff picture.
Oklahoma at Alabama and Texas at Georgia are the two biggest games of the day, and if either road team can pull out a victory it would make for some chaos in the next playoff projection and the SEC championship game outlook.
The top Big Ten contenders all have relatively easy games at home, with Oregon (vs. Minnesota) playing on Friday night, while Indiana (vs. Wisconsin) has an early Saturday game and Ohio State (vs. UCLA) will play under the lights.
That could mean the most compelling Big Ten game of the week has to do more with venue than matchup, as Michigan and Northwestern will face off at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.
Notre Dame faces a tough test on the road against an upstart Pittsburgh team, and with two losses already on their resume, the Fighting Irish can't afford to fall again and still hope to make the playoff field.
Finally, the Group of Five picture remains extremely muddled, with South Florida at Navy, North Texas at UAB and Memphis at East Carolina among the games to keep an eye on in Week 12.
See you all next weekend!
