WWE SummerSlam 2015: Best Feuds for Kevin Owens After Battleground
Kevin Owens fans may wonder what is next for the former NXT Champion after a disappointing night at Battleground.
The quality and excitement level of his third match with John Cena was without question yet again, and it's safe to say that when compiling a list of the most enjoyable matches of 2015 so far, a number of Owens' bouts would be included.
But the result, and the nature of it, left Owens fans feeling a little flat and slightly pessimistic about his future. Losing to John Cena again is one thing, but being made to tap out didn't quite feel like the right sort of booking.

So what's next for Owens? Well, he should certainly be able to regroup and bounce back at SummerSlam, but who is best for him to feud with?
The obvious answer would of course be Cena once again, but it's unclear whether a fourth meeting of these two great rivals is overdoing it a bit too much.
The best booking at Battleground seemed to be Cena dropping the title and a rematch at SummerSlam before both moved on; Owens as United States Champion, Cena into a fresh feud moving towards the second half of the year.
But if Owens does beat Cena at SummerSlam and wins the United States Championship, does that lead to a fifth meeting for Cena's mandatory rematch? That's the danger here; their matches so far have been excellent, but how much is too much?
Despite that worry though, Owens would be well-suited to the championship so early in his career, and his slow build towards one of the most impressive heels in WWE certainly gives him enough credibility to take the title from Cena.
But in a bid to keep things interesting, perhaps WWE could integrate another man into the feud, like Cesaro, for example.
Since Tyson Kidd's injury the Swiss Superman has slowly worked his way into the U.S. title picture, and he's been part of some absolutely incredible matches of late.
Cesaro and Owens seem to work quite well together inside the ring, and they've plenty of history together, too, like back in Ring of Honor.
Throw in their more recent fights, as well as Cesaro and Cena's matches, and he could well be the answer when it comes to keeping Owens and Cena going through to SummerSlam.
But if Owens is destined to be away from the United States Championship picture, then it's slightly more difficult to project where he goes in the immediate future.
Dean Ambrose could be an option; it's not totally clear yet if Ambrose or Sting will play the part of Roman Reigns' partner against Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam. If WWE go with Sting, then Ambrose vs. Owens could be absolute dynamite.
However, that feels more like fantasy booking at this moment in time. Owens should certainly be given another chance to go after the United States Championship, and whether it's with Cesaro involved or on his own, another meeting with Cena would make for great viewing.
