Unrivaled Power Rankings Halfway Through 2026 Season
Unrivaled's Season 2 has featured two more clubs, more players and a ton of excitement carrying over from its first campaign. With every team having played nine games, the season is nearing its midway point.
It's been an exciting season so far as the league traveled to Philadelphia for a weekend and continued to celebrate the excellence of its players.
There's still a championship to be won, though, so let's look at the rankings, which are based on play through early February.
8. Hive Basketball Club (2-7)
1 of 8
Preseason Rank: 8
Hive BC has a good mix of young talent and vets, featuring Ezi Magbegor, Kelsey Mitchell, Monique Billings, Natisha Hiedeman, Sonia Citron and Saniya Rivers.
However, this team has struggled with scoring. Only two of their games have ended with Hive within 10 points of their opponents, and those were their two wins. Both times, they won by just three points. Every loss has been by a deficit of 10-plus points. When they are hot, they can contend, but otherwise they can't keep up.
Mitchell leads Hive with 16.9 points per game, and Citron is right behind her with 16.6.
7. Lunar Owls Basketball Club (2-7)
2 of 8
Preseason Rank: 7
The Lunar Owls were on fire last year, having gone 13-1 in the regular season. Yet, with Napheesa Collier out for the entire season, needing double ankle surgery, the Lunar Owls' hopes have dimmed.
Despite being led by Marina Mabrey (26.8 ppg), Aaliyah Edwards (21.4 ppg), and Skylar Diggins (15.3 ppg), the rest of the Lunar Owls roster lacks punch.
Their most dominant win of the season came against Rose BC in Philadelphia last weekend, where Mabrey went off with 47 points. Maybe this is a sign of things to come in the second half.
6. Vinyl Basketball Club (4-5)
3 of 8
Preseason Rank: 4
The new-look Vinyl could go far in Season 2. After retaining Dearica Hamby and Rhyne Howard, the club added Brittney Griner, Courtney Williams, Erica Wheeler and Rae Burrell.
They are lacking a bit of the scoring needed to keep up with some of the sharpshooters on other teams, though. Dearica Hamby (18.3 ppg) and Rhyne Howard (17.8 ppg) are leading the team, but no one else is scoring more than 10 points per game.
In the fast-paced environment of Unrivaled, you need to be putting up three-point shots quickly to keep up. That doesn't seem to be happening here, and the club is falling behind because of it.
5. Rose Basketball Club (4-5)
4 of 8
Preseason Rank: 2
The inaugural Unrivaled champions have struggled so far, but they were also the dark horses of Season 1, so don't count out Rose BC. After a strong 3-0 start, they lost their next three and are now sitting in the middle of the standings.
Chelsea Gray is leading this team with 26.1 points per game, and Kahleah Copper is scoring 19.3. However, Copper's homecoming game in Philadelphia was spoiled by Mabrey's 47 point showing, and Rose lost that one.
Just like they did last year, Rose BC is talented enough to climb the standings in the second half of the season.
4. Breeze Basketball Club (5-4)
5 of 8
Preseason Rank: 1
Breeze BC is holding its own, despite the fact that most of the roster is made up of rookies, sophomores or those who haven't played in Unrivaled before.
Paige Bueckers is leading the team, as expected, with 24.7 points per game. Her impressive shot selection is on full display in this format, and it's rare for a game to pass without her precision being highlighted. She's also averaging nearly seven assists per game.
Dominique Malonga is also impressing, even getting a mid-game dunk early in her first Unrivaled season. She follows Bueckers with 16.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 11.0 per contest.
3. Mist Basketball Club (6-3)
6 of 8
Preseason Rank: 6
Mist BC has been one of the pleasant surprises of the Unrivaled season. Breanna Stewart has looked healthy—a relief since both her WNBA season and previous Unrivaled season were marred by lingering injury issues.
The only three losses this club has suffered have come at the hands of the other three teams joining them in the top four—Breeze, Phantom and Laces.
Allisha Gray is on fire, scoring 21.6 points per game, but is also supported by Stewart (19.2 points per game), and Arike Ogunbowale has been contributing her own 13.8 points per game to the mix.
It seems like the veteran presence of this team is really helping them ride the wave of the season so far.
2. Phantom Basketball Club (6-3)
7 of 8
Preseason Rank: 5
Despite not having Satou Sabally this season due to a concussion she suffered in the WNBA Finals, Phantom BC has thrived. Their mix of veteran talent with younger stars like Aliyah Boston and Kiki Iriafen has been crucial to their success.
Four of their players are averaging double-digit points, leading to six statement wins on the season. Kelsey Plum leads with 20.9 points per game, Boston has 18.7, Tiffany Hayes has 12.4 and Iriafen has 11.0 per game.
It's still unknown if Sabally will make it back at all this season, but if she does, she will just boost this team to another level. The group has such a great mix of scoring, facilitating ability, speed, defense, height and post play that things just look and feel balanced for them.
1. Laces Basketball Club (7-2)
8 of 8
Preseason Rank: 3
Laces BC has two of the best players in the game in Alyssa Thomas and Jackie Young. While those two are absolutely contributing to Laces' dominance, it's Brittney Sykes who is leading the team in scoring.
Sykes is dropping 18.6 points per game, with Young checking in at 16.8 and Thomas 11.8. While maybe not as high-scoring as some of the other teams in the league, the Laces are showing intense defensive effort, speed and skill on the court.
Their only two losses were one- and two-possession games, and could have very easily gone the other way. There was excitement around this roster at the beginning of the season, and the experiment is proving to be successful so far.
