Chris MuellerOct 4, 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on October 4.

Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Saturday's show:

  • Eddie Kingston vs. Dralistico
  • Toni Storm and Kris Statlander meet face to face
  • Jamie Hayter vs. Anna Jay
  • Kevin Knight vs. a member of FTR
  • Death Riders vs. Jay Lethal, Adam Priest and Tommy Billington
  • Rush and Sammy Guevara in action
  • Don Callis Family vs. Orange Cassidy and Paragon
  • MxM TV Casting Call

Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.

The Death Riders vs. Adam Priest, Jay Lethal and Tommy Billington

1 of 9

Last time in action: Death Riders lost to The Opps and Page (Dynamite, October 1), Priest and Billington lost to FTR (Collision, Sept. 11), Lethal defeated Aaron Solo (ROH, Sept. 27)

After an array of quick backstage promos to get the show going, The Death Riders came out for the opening match. Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia attacked Lethal, Billington and Priest all at once to get the match started.

The Death Riders were vicious in their offense, especially when they had someone isolated in their corner.

This was a hard-hitting match, but it didn't have a lot going on. This felt like an excuse to give The Death Riders a dominant win, which the group as a whole doesn't need at this point. As fun as this was, a singles match with Garcia beating one of the other men in the match would have benefited him a lot more.

All six men did a good job working together, but Billington and Garcia is a combination we need in a singles bout at some point. They looked great together.

Despite a late-match comeback from the babyfaces, Garcia got the win for his team with the Dragontamer, and a little help from a stomp from Moxley.

Result: Death Riders defeated Priest, Billington and Lethal

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Kingston and Cassidy had funny moments during the backstage promos as the show began.
  • The way Priest fell on the barricade when Castagnoli threw him looked painful.
  • Lethal surprising Mox with a stiff right hand was a fun moment. The look on Moxley's face was priceless.

Anna Jay vs. Jamie Hayter

2 of 9

Last time in action: Jay and Tay lost a 10-woman tag match (Collision, Sept. 11), Hayter defeated Julia Hart (Collision, Sept. 27)

Garcia finally acknowledged Daddy Magic and called him a loser who was bringing him down. He said he is hanging around winners now. Even Moxley looked surprised by how brutal Garcia was on the mic.

The next match saw Hayter take on Jay in their first match in four years. Jay was looking to prove she has come a long way since their last encounter, so she was aggressive in their initial lockup.

Every time Hayter tried to build some momentum, Jay seemed to have a counter for her. They had a couple of timing issues with moves, but most of what they did looked decent.

They fought through a break into the next segment. They got enough time to pack a lot into this without feeling like they were under a time crunch. Without a couple of minor issues, this would have been one of the better matches of the night.

Hayter countered out of the Queen Slayer and hit the Hayterade for the pin and the win.

Result: Hayter defeated Jay

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Nick Wayne was shown being told he would be out another six to eight weeks with his foot injury.
  • The flatliner Jay hit looked great. Hayter really threw herself at the mat to sell it.
  • The ref was being too stingy with the count when Hayter countered a hold into a pin. Jay's shoulders were down enough to make a two-count that was going to be kicked out of anyway.

Rush and Sammy Guevara vs. Two Jobbers

3 of 9

Last time in action: Rush and Guevara defeated The Von Erichs (ROH, Sept. 11)

Cha Cha Charlie and Shayne Stetson were sacrificed to LFI this week to give Guevara and Rush an easy win.

Cha Cha Charlie tried to dance with Guevara, so he tagged in Rush to absolutely destroy both men on his own. El Toro Blanco was a one-man wrecking crew.

Even though this was a quick squash with zero offense from the jobbers, Rush going nuts on both men was fun to watch. Guevara tagged in and hit a swanton for the win.

Result: Rush and Guevara won

Grade: C

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Max Caster and Anthony Bowens agreed to team up one more time to take on Big Bill and Bryan Keith next week.
  • Cha Cha Charlie feels like an NXT gimmick.

Eddie Kingston vs. Dralistico

4 of 9

Last time in action: Dralistico defeated BEEF (ROH, Sept. 27), Kingston and Hook defeated Big Bill and Keith (Collision, Sept. 27)

Kingston came out with Hook right after the previous match was over since Dralistico was already at ringside, so the next match got started almost immediately, which was an efficient use of time.

Kingston was hot out of the gate, but Dralistico took control as the show cut to a commercial. When we returned, the masked man was still controlling the pace.

Dralistico is one of those guys who never seems to get many opportunities to show off, but when he gets those chances, he reminds everyone that he is just as good as his brothers, Rush and Dragon Lee.

Kingston, who already had a bruised chest, dared Dralistico to come in and chop him. It led to the high-flyer hitting his finisher, but Kingston rolled out of the ring.

When they got back in, Kingston hit his trademark spinning backfist to get the pin and the win. This was a solid match that would have been even better with a few more minutes.

Result: Kingston defeated Dralistico

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Kingston has such a good entrance song. It is very recognizable as his music and matches his personality perfectly.
  • Guevara joined the commentary team.
  • Kingston landed his finisher but you could tell he was trying to make sure there was no repeat of what happened at All Out with Big Bill.

MxM TV vs. Don Callis Family

5 of 9

Last time in action: MxM TV lost to SkyFlight (ROH, Sept. 27), Don Callis Family lost to The Conglomeration (Sept. 24)

Mason Madden, Mansoor and Johnny TV came out for what they called a casting call, but it was just a six-man match against Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander, which seemed to surprise MxM.

This wasn't exactly a squash, but it was pretty close. Madden got in a little offense, but most of this was just an excuse to give Fletcher, Takeshita and Alexander a chance to show off.

The Don Callis Family scored a quick and predictable win before we got a promo from Dalton Castle and The Outrunners backstage.

Result: Don Callis Family defeated MxM TV

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Madden is so much bigger than he looks on TV, and he already looks huge. He dwarfed Takeshita, who is a very large man.
  • The way Fletcher sold missing a running kick in the corner was hilarious.

Kevin Knight vs. Dax Harwood

6 of 9

Last time in action: Knight lost in the Ladder match (All Out), FTR lost to Cope and Cage (All Out)

Willow Nightingale and Mike Bailey accompanied Knight to the ring for his match against Harwood, who had Cash Wheeler and Stokely Hathaway in his corner. Knight didn't know who his opponent was going to be until Harwood attacked him.

The Jet was able to rally and got in enough offense to make Dax take a breather at ringside, but it was just a ploy to sucker Knight in for an elbow to the face. Harwood had the advantage when it came to strikes, but Knight held his own most of the time.

This ended up being the best thing on the show up to this point, which isn't surprising given the competitors involved. Harwood has always been able to get a good match out of anybody, and Knight has been one of AEW's most exciting new stars over the past several months. They worked well together to make this a fun match.

Most people would probably predict Harwood winning in this situation, and most days, that is probably how this would be booked, but this ended up going a different way. Willow and Speedball prevented Wheeler from interfering, allowing Knight to hit a huge splash from the top rope for the win.

Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford ended up attacking Willow to save Stokely. They all posed together, so it looks like FTR has aligned itself with Bayne and Ford for the time being.

Result: Knight defeated Harwood

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • The Triangle of Madness was shown attacking Queen Aminata and Hayter backstage during an interview.
  • Wheeler did a very inappropriate hand gesture to the crowd.
  • Knight hit a spinebuster that looked great, but Tony Schiavone mistakenly called it a powerbomb.
  • Knight's finisher looked great.

Face to Face

7 of 9

Statlander and Storm met for a face-to-face confrontation ahead of their world title rematch. Stat said they needed to talk, so Storm decided to lie down on the mat. Statlander joined her, and both women looked up at the lights as they talked.

Stat said she respects Storm and what she has done, but she is not going to hold back against her. Storm said nobody is more deserving than Stat, but there is nobody she would rather beat. They ended up agreeing to have a fight and started brawling until The Triangle of Madness broke it up with an attack.

Harley Cameron showed up and went after Thekla. This allowed Storm and Stat to recover and help her send the Triangle out of the ring.

This segment was done well and even though it went in a predictable direction, they took a unique path to get there.

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Statlander was wearing an odd piece of jewelry that went from her nose to her ear.
  • Thekla has a very unique presence. It's nice to see her get a little mic time.

Paragon and Orange Cassidy vs. Don Callis Family

8 of 9

Last time in action: Death Riders defeated Paragon (Collision, Sept. 27), Callis Family lost to Conglomeration (Dynamite, Sept. 24)

Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly teamed up with OC to take on Hechicero, Lance Archer and Rocky Romero in the main event.

KOR and Hechicero started off with a nice exchange of holds and counters. The two technical wizards put on a good show before we started getting tags. Archer was the most dominant man in the ring once he was in. He took out all three opponents by himself before the break.

We returned to see the Callis Family firmly in control, but Strong eventually made the tag to OC, who squared off with an angry Murderhawk Monster.

O'Reilly made Romero tap out to an armbar to get the victory for his team. This was a solid match, but it was outshone a bit by other things on the show.

Result: Paragon and OC defeated Don Callis Family

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • The Callis Family has gotten so big that they can be in two six-man tag matches and still have members who didn't appear on the show.
  • Hechicero and O'Reilly could have an incredible series of singles matches.

The Final Word

9 of 9

All things considered, this was a perfectly fine episode of Collision. It had a couple of weak spots with the squash matches, but as a whole, it was a good two hours of wrestling.

The two six-man tag matches featuring the Don Callis Family were enjoyable, but if you look at which members won and which ones lost this week, you will see a clear division in how certain people are booked.

The segment with Storm and Statlander was one of the highlights, but the bout between Harwood and Knight stole the entire show.

Not only did they put on a great performance, but the decision to have Knight get the win helped cement his status as a rising star in the promotion. Even with some end-of-match shenanigans, it was mostly a clean victory.
