Cody Posts Update on Eye Injury 👁️
Since announcing last year that 2025 would be his final year as an active wrestler, Cena has gone on a roller-coaster ride of a retirement tour.
It started at the Royal Rumble in February when he was one of the final two Superstars remaining in the men's Royal Rumble match before getting eliminated by Jey Uso.
Stating his intention to vie for a world title at WrestleMania 41, Cena entered the men's Elimination Chamber match the following month, and he outlasted five of WWE's top stars to win and earn a WWE Championship opportunity on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Shockingly, Cena turned heel for the first time in over 20 years afterward, attacking Cody Rhodes at the behest of The Rock.
Cena went on to beat Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania with help from rapper Travis Scott, breaking a tie with Ric Flair for the most world title reigns in pro wrestling history with 17.
Prior to his rematch with Rhodes at SummerSlam, Cena had a change of heart and went back to his old ways. That led to a spectacular match that Rhodes won to regain the title.
Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE programming following the match, hitting Cena with an F-5 and solidifying Cena's transformation back into a babyface.
Following Cena's loss against Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, it is fair to wonder if a rematch could be in the cards for Crown Jewel given that there is still some unfinished business between them.
If WWE doesn't run back Cena vs. Lesnar, it isn't yet certain what plans are in place for Cena at Crown Jewel, let alone for Survivor Series or Saturday Night's Main Event.
Since two of Cena's five remaining dates are episodes of Raw, it is possible there may be only three matches remaining in his illustrious career.
