Conor McGregor 'Definitely' Will Fight at UFC White House 2026 Event, 'Ecstatic'
Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor re-affirmed his commitment Friday to competing on the card scheduled for the White House lawn in Washington, D.C., next year.
Speaking to Adam Glyn of Adam's Apple (h/t Championship Rounds), McGregor expressed excitement over potentially being part of the historic spectacle.

"I'm ecstatic," McGregor said. "The Mac is back, and what better event than to grace the White House lawn. ... I'm very, very excited, very eager, very motivated. Bring it on, baby."
To erase any doubt of his involvement, the Irishman added that he will "definitely" fight at the event.
McGregor, who has been a vocal supporter of United States President Donald Trump, was among the first fighters to publicly state their desire to be involved with the White House event.
UFC President Dana White announced last month that the White House event was indeed going to happen. While the initial idea was for it to take place on July 4, 2026, Alex Leary of the Wall Street Journal reported last week that it will happen "sometime in June" instead.
Appearing this week on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, White revealed some additional details regarding the event.
He noted that up to 5,000 people will be able to attend the show on the White House lawn, while an adjoining park will accommodate 85,000 people watching on big screens.
McGregor, 37, is one of the biggest draws in UFC history, but he hasn't fought in several years.
His most recent bout was a technical knockout loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. McGregor broke his leg during the fight, forcing a doctor stoppage.
McGregor began his career 19-2 and held UFC titles in two different weight classes, but he lost four of his past seven fights and three of his past four.
Given his long layoff from the Octagon, it is unclear how McGregor will fare if he does indeed return for the White House card, but his presence would undoubtedly aid UFC in terms of pay-per-view buys.
