Re: Brock Lesnar: The Search For a Hero
Many things can tick a sports fan off.An undeserved win, a lopsided victory, winning ugly. . . just to name a few.One of the easiest ways to tick even the most devoted fans off is to disrespect the fans themselves.
Flip them off, froth at the mouth and spew spit in their faces.Yeah, that's the way to tick fans off.And that is exactly what big, boorish Brock Lesnar has done.Let's not even get into ticking off sponsors and the boss of the UFC.
However, deliberately casting stones at a sponsor will most definitely set Dana "show me the money" White off, a lot faster than anything else will.Perhaps a few fans will remain by Lesnar's side through thick and thin.
He is the typical WWE heel, but still there are crossover fans who enjoy his personality. The more offensively he acts, the better those fans will enjoy it.Ah, a special breed: the pro wrestling fans. A breed apart. That is not my point, though, this is.
As the popular song from Footloose goes, "I'm looking for a hero." The hero I want to see rise up in MMA is the one who can put Brock Lesnar in his place and maybe even send him packing his bags and back to the WWE where he belongs..
MMA needs fighters with more class than Lesnar can muster. If only there was a GSP who weighed 100 pounds more. Dang!
OK. So next up to try to bell the Hellcat is Shane Carwin. Yes, Shane could be the perfect hero.Big, intelligent, well spoken, with good manners and the necessary power. Shane is known to have a good chin, 5X sized fists, a good win streak, and good training.Hopefully, Shane will fell the giant.
What if he doesn't though?
Do I put out a poster, "Wanted a crazy bad ass MMA fighter with suicidal tendencies, who is brave/foolish enough to step in the cage with a 285 pound lunatic who escaped from the WWE?"
In modern times, how does one find such a man?
Wanted: A hell of a tough man to avenge ticked off MMA fans and restore goodness to the Heavyweight division of the UFC. . . .
