AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades and Highlights After Forbidden Door 2025
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on August 30.
Forbidden Door is in the books, but AEW doesn't have long before it's next PPV on September 20, All Out.
This means the company has a lot of ground to cover in only a few weeks to build up the card, so in addition to the usual weekly action, we got some storyline developments this week.
Leading up to this week's show, the only match AEW had advertised was Big Bill vs. Juice Robinson, so unlike most weeks, we didn't know what to expect for days in advance.
Let's take a look at everything that happened on Saturday's Collision.
Daniel Garcia vs. Blake Christian
1 of 8
The opening bout for this week's Collision saw Daniel Garcia take on ROH's Blake Christian.
Jon Moxley showed up as the match was getting going and whispered something to Garcia, which seemed to confuse him a bit.
Garcia took control and had it until Lee Johnson provided a distraction for Christian. Vanilla Baby only had the upper hand for a few moments before Red Death regained his momentum.
Garcia won with a piledriver in under 10 minutes. This match didn't overstay its welcome and had some good spots, but it was never designed to steal the show.
Result: Garcia defeated Christian
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
- Daddy Magic has been missed on commentary.
- Christian's moonsault from the barricade looked good.
- Garcia issued a challenge to Moxley for a rematch after he won, but Mox had already left the area.
Kyle Fletcher and Josh Alexander vs. Kyle O'Reilly and Tomohiro Ishii
2 of 8
The Don Callis Family was in action next as the TNT champion, Kyle Fletcher, teamed up with Josh Alexander to take on The Conglomeration's Kyle O'Reilly and Tomohiro Ishii.
KOR and Alexander had a brief opening sequence before The Stone Pitbull came in and started trading shots with the former TNA champion.
The two Kyles had a brief faceoff before they started fighting. The crowd chanted for both of them as they went back and forth. Fletcher ended up bleeding from the side of his left eye.
They fought through a break into the next segment. All four guys did some good work, but Fletcher and O'Reilly carried most of the match, which made sense due to how the crowd was reacting.
Anyone familiar with these four men won't be surprised to hear they put on a good match. In fact, it would be surprising if they did anything else. Despite KOR and Ishii having the upper hand for a good portion of the match, the Don Callis Family got the win thanks to a low blow and a piledriver.
Roderick Strong came out to help O'Reilly after the match, but he was not concerned about Ishii.
Result: Don Callis Family defeated Conglomeration
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- Strong's eventual turn on KOR will be sad, but also necessary.
- The crowd was chanting "F--k Don Callis."
- It was hard to tell exactly which move busted Fletcher open but it was likely a knee to the temple.
- Alexander countering a guillotine with an ankle lock was a cool spot.
Jay Lethal vs. Hologram
3 of 8
After appearing at ROH Death Before Dishonor last night, Jay Lethal was back in action for a match against Hologram. Both men were successful at the PPV in their respective matches, so they both had some momentum going into this.
Lethal scored the first takedown, but the high-flyer was back up immediately. They traded a few one-counts before coming to a stalemate and shaking hands to show each other respect.
This was a fun match that didn't seem to favor one man or the other. They both got in plenty of offense and felt evenly matched.
The crowd chanted for both men as they were setting up for the finishing sequence. The masked man countered The King's Elbow, but then Lethal reversed a kneebar into a Figure Four. Hologram escaped and was able to get the pin and the win a moment later.
As Hologram was celebrating, we got a teaser for what appeared to be an evil version of Hologram.
Result: Hologram defeated Lethal
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- Kip Sabian was shown yelling at Luchasaurus and Shayna Wayne backstage.
- Hologram almost messed up a roll over Lethal in the corner but managed to save it.
- Lethal's backbreaker was just about perfect.
- Hologram landed on his face for a bump but it didn't slow him down much.
- Hologram's missile suicide dive was awesome.
Alex Windsor vs. Ashley Vox
4 of 8
Ashley Vox came up short at Death Before Dishonor and was looking to change her luck, but Alex Windsor had other plans. She won the match in about a minute with a Sharpshooter. This was a squash, pure and simple.
Result: Windsor defeated Vox
Grade: Incomplete
Notable Moments and Observations
- Windsor gave a promo challenging Mercedes Mone to a match.
FTR vs. Adam Priest and J.D. Drake
5 of 8
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler did not have Stokely Hathaway by their side when they came out to take on Adam Priest and JD Drake.
Dax and Priest started with a few lockups but neither man could seem to get the upper hand. They traded some quick takedowns before Harwood took control.
This was one of those matches that was decent but incredibly predictable. Nobody thought Drake and Priest were going to win here, so the bout, being as competitive as it was, ended up almost being surprising.
A match nobody would have been shocked to see end quickly ended up going through the break into the next segment and had the crowd on its feet when we returned.
FTR got the win, but not with their usual finisher. Harwood got a submission victory for his team. They gave a promo directed at Christian Cage and Adam Copeland after the match was over.
Result: FTR defeated Drake and Priest
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- It's a little weird to see Drake teaming with someone who isn't Anthony Henry.
- Drake is such a unique talent. He moves around better than most guys with his size and build.
- The crowd was loving this match. Almost nobody was seated after the commercial.
Juice Robinson vs. Big Bill
6 of 8
After a couple of quick interviews backstage, Big Bill made his way to the ring with Bryan Keith by his side to take on Robinson, who had Austin Gunn and two cardboard cutouts for support.
The big man stood tall in the middle of the ring while Robinson circled him trying to look for an opening. Bill put him on the turnbuckle and backed away just to show some dominance.
This bout was the typical David vs. Goliath kind of match. Bill used his size to push Robinson around most of the match while Juice would occasionally get in a little offense to wear him down.
After Robinson came close a couple of times, Bill put him down with a side slam for the pin and the win.
Result: Big Bill defeated Robinson
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
- The cardboard cutouts are such a simple but funny gimmick.
- Robinson's all black gear needs something to spruce it up.
- Bill did a good job selling Robinson's big right cross.
Storm, Shirakawa and Aminata vs. Hart, Blue and Starkz
7 of 8
Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa and Queen Aminata teamed up to take on Skye Blue, Julia Hart and Billie Starkz. Thekla was unable to compete after getting into a fight with Jamie Hayter earlier in the day.
Storm and Blue got the match going. The champ hit a nice headlock takeover, but Blue didn't stay down for long. They traded holds and counters for a bit before Starkz tagged in.
We returned from a break to see Hart and Aminata both down in the middle of the ring. Both women tagged out, but Hart was tagged back in by Blue not long after.
All six women did a good job here, but this match felt a little disjointed in places. It's hard to explain why, but there were moments that didn't feel like they went as planned.
Shirakawa ended up getting the pin for her team over Starkz, but she was immediately taken out by Thekla after it was over. Hayter was nowhere to be seen, so the heels ended up leaving the babyfaces down and out.
Result: Shirakawa, Storm and Aminata defeated Blue, Hart and Starkz
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
- Shirakawa is so effortlessly charismatic. She doesn't need to give long promos. She just has an aura about her.
- Starkz is so deceptively tall. She doesn't look tall on her own but she towers over a lot of her opponents.
- Hart's nose was dripping blood and she let it go to create a badass visual.
The Final Word
8 of 8Saturday's Collision was a pretty decent show from top to bottom. Other than one squash match, just about everything ranged from good to great.
Fletcher and Alexander beating KOR and Ishii was one of the bigger highlights of the night, but this is one of the rare cases when most of the matches on the show felt like they were on the same level.
It was great to see the women's division not only get two matches, but also end the show in the main event.
AEW has a lot of work to do to make All Out feel important this soon after Forbidden Door, but it already has the groundwork laid for a handful of matches, so it should be a good PPV.
