UFC's Dana White Says White House Fight Card is 'Absolutely Going to Happen'
UFC CEO Dana White is remaining bullish in his plans for a fight card at the White House on Independence Day 2026.
"It's absolutely going to happen," White told the Associated Press, per ESPN. "Think about that, the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the UFC will be on the White House south lawn live on CBS."
White also declared that he's scheduled to travel to Washington later this month to meet with President Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, to discuss logistics. Last month, President Trump expressed interest in holding a UFC event on the White House grounds.
The UFC is riding high after securing a seven-year broadcast rights deal with Paramount on Monday worth a whopping $7.7 billion. All of the cards will stream live on Paramount+, and select numbered events will simulcast on CBS. White feels this latest deal positions the company as one of the top leagues in all of sports.
"You have the NFL, the NBA, the UFC and soccer globally," White said. "We're coming. We're coming for all of them."
Longtime UFC stars Conor McGregor and Jon Jones were among those to express interest in fighting at the White House. McGregor hasn't fought since July 2021, and Jones had retired a few weeks before the plans for the event were revealed.
Still, White made it clear that it's too early to discuss a potential main event for the card.
"This is a one-of-one event," he said.
For now, White said the UFC matchmakers are set to meet this week to begin making plans for a loaded fight card for the company's debut on Paramount next year.
