AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights From Aug. 9

Chris MuellerAug 9, 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on August 9.

Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Saturday's show:

  • Kyle Fletcher vs. Tomohiro Ishii (TNT Championship)
  • JetSpeed and Adam Page vs. LFI
  • Triangle of Madness vs. Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata and Tay Melo

Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's episode of Collision.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Tomohiro Ishii

1 of 9

The show opened with the TNT title bout featuring Fletcher defending the belt against Ishii. Paul Walter Hauser was on commentary.

Fletcher decided to begin the match with an exchange of strikes, which Ishii was more than happy to dish out. They traded dozens of forearms before The Stone Pitbull scored the first takedown with a clothesline.

There were several moments when Fletcher was trying to prove he was a tough competitor, only for Ishii to remind him that he is one of the toughest. He unleashes several chest chops against the Protostar to bruise his chest.

To absolutely no one's surprise, this was a hard-hitting and competitive fight that pitted a young champion against a decorated veteran. Both men looked great, but we all knew how it would end.

Fletcher only just won the title from Dustin Rhodes last week, so there was zero chance he was losing the belt after coming out on top in a bloody Street Fight against Rhodes.

This was a strong performance from both men. After a few close calls, Fletcher scored the win with his signature brainbuster.

Result: Fletcher defeated Ishii

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

—That Aragon Ballroom was nice for a while, but it's great to see AEW in other venues.
—Ishii's entrance music is simple, but it works.
—Some of those chops Ishii hit looked brutal. Fletcher was not selling when he was holding his chest. You could tell he was actually feeling it.

Megan Bayne Squash

2 of 9

Megan Bayne battled a local talent named Emily Rose, but the match barely lasted a minute. The Megasus won with ease. This was barely a match but it gave Bayne another mark in the win column.

Result: Bayne won

Grade: Incomplete

Notable Moments and Observations

—Ricochet and The Gates of Agony were shown attacking some people backstage.
—We got an interview with Bryan Keith and Big Bill, and another one with Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne.

Ricochet vs. Juice Robinson

3 of 9

Robinson was accompanied by Austin Gunn when he took on Ricochet, who surprisingly didn't have Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona by his side.

They started off with some simple lockups, but Rico took a moment to regroup after Juice countered a kick. He knocked over a cardboard cutout of Jay White before getting back into the ring.

Robinson maintained the upper hand for the first several minutes. He had Ricochet's number and kept slapping his bald head to get pops from the crowd. Liona showed up on the stage to provide a distraction so Kaun could sneak in and slam Juice on the floor.

We returned from a break to see Ricochet still in control as Robinson began to fight back. While Gates of Agony and Gunn were fighting at ringside, Big Bill delivered a big boot to Robinson that allowed Ricochet to get the win.

This match had some good moments, but it had a little too much interference for our taste.

Result: Ricochet defeated Robinson

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

—Robinson got himself into good shape during his hiatus. This is the most muscular he has looked.
—The Bang Bang Gang has one of the best entrance songs in pro wrestling. The crowd always comes alive when it comes on.
—Austin didn't do a good job pulling Kaun off the apron, so when Kaun jumped off, it looked intentional.

FTR vs. Local Talents

4 of 9

Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler and Stokely Hathaway were in trios action this week against three local talents. Hathaway threw away his crutches to show he was no longer injured.

The three local talents managed to get in a little offense, but FTR hit the Shatter Machine and then held up one of the jobbers for a spike piledriver from Stoke to give them the win.

This wasn't quite as squashy as Bayne's earlier match, but it was close.

Result: FTR won

Grade: C

Notable Moments and Observations

—Hauser said all of the jobbers looked like youth coaches.
—The piledriver looked a little rough.

Hechicero vs. AR Foxx

5 of 9

Next week, Hechicero will compete in a Fatal 4-Way advertised in the graphic above, but this week, he battled AR Fox in a singles bout.

Fox wasn't looking to be overlooked just because he got the jobber entrance for this bout. He came out of the gate hot and had Hechicero on defense right away.

They fought through a break and we returned to see The Alchemist controlling the pace. Fox was still getting in some offense, but not as much as before.

Hechicero got the victory to build a little momentum heading into next week's Technical Spectacle. This was a decent match but didn't push the limits of what they are capable of at all.

Result: Hechicero defeated Fox

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

—Fox's huge dive over the top rope looked great from the low angle AEW shot it from.

The Triangle of Madness vs. Nightingale, Aminata and Melo

6 of 9

Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue had a trios match this week against the team of Melo, Nightingale and Aminata.

Aminata took control early but Blue and Hart immediately came in and helped Thekla take over.

Every time the babyfaces were getting the upper hand, the other team would break some rules to regain control. Even when Nightingale was physically dominating one or two women, the third would sway things back to their side.

This was a decent trios bout that allowed all six competitors some time to show off, but in the end, it was Blue who got the pin for her team.

Result: The Triangle of Madness defeated Willow, Melo and Aminata

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

—The pop for Willow was huge. The crowd adores her.
—It was funny how the team that was randomly thrown together matched their gear while the Triangle of Madness made no effort to look like a unit.
—The ref stopping Willow and Melo from helping Aminata while the others triple-teamed Aminata was a little weird and went on longer than it should have.
—The video for Harley Cameron was hilarious.

Max Caster Open Challenge

7 of 9

Max Caster came out to issue another open challenge. He said he outlasted Rush last week even though he spent five minutes having his butt kicked.

He was not happy to see Katsuyori Shibata answer his open challenge. The Wrestler used his superior striking ability to control the first minute, but Caster almost won with a roll-up.

Shibata won in just over two minutes with the PK. He offered Caster his hand after the match, and Caster shook it and gave him a hug. LFI showed up and attacked both men, but JetSpeed made the save to set up the main event.

Result: Shibata defeated Caster

Grade: C

Notable Moments and Observations

—Caster was trying not to laugh when the crowd did his chant.
—Caster sold Shibata's chops in the funniest way.

JetSpeed and Adam Page vs. LFI

8 of 9

Rush, Dralistico and The Beast Mortos were in a standoff with Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey until Page made his entrance.

Hangman and Mortos started off with a fast-paced exchange, but Rush ended up tagging in for a showdown with the world champion. LFI triple-teamed Page until Speedball and The Jet evened the odds.

All six of these guys are tremendous performers in different ways, so they had no problem putting on an entertaining show for the crowd.

Hangman found himself being isolated for a long time, but JetSpeed was able to help him get enough time to recover.

After Bailey and Knight hit some big dives to take out Mortos and Rush, Page finished off Dralistico with the Buckshot Lariat for the win.

Result: Hangman and JetSpeed defeated LFI

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

—Page's top rope moonsault always looks awesome. He's great at landing right where he needs to land.
—Bailey and Knight have quickly grown into a solid tag team. They probably won't be together for too long, but for the time being, they are a great addition to the division.
—Rush's chops always sound a little louder than everyone else.

The Final Word

9 of 9

Saturday's Collision had a few inconsequential matches that kept this from being an above average episode, but it still had some highlights.

Both trios matches provided some fun, especially in the main event, but the bout that stole the show was Fletcher and Ishii's TNT title fight.

Fletcher has cemented himself as one of the most reliable and proficient workers on the entire roster. This kid does not know how to have a bad match.

Forbidden Door is already shaping up to be an interesting card, and with Fletcher throwing down a challenge for NJPW to send their toughest, it could get even more interesting in the coming weeks.
