Conor McGregor Challenged by Michael Chandler for UFC White House Fight Card in 2026
UFC veteran Michael Chandler has a big idea for when he wants to finally settle his rivalry with Conor McGregor.
While speaking to TMZ, Chandler said he's hoping to take part in the potential UFC event that will be held at the White House in 2026, and he made it clear that a matchup against McGregor is "the fight that I want."
"Conor's the guy. Conor's the guy that I want to fight," Chandler said. "At this point, it feels like we have to finish The Ultimate Fighter 31."
McGregor also previously expressed interest in fighting at the White House, posting a picture of him and Chandler on social media:
Chandler and McGregor coached opposite one another in the reality competition series in 2023. After months of delays, they were finally scheduled to settle the score in the Octagon at UFC 303 in June 2024, but McGregor withdrew from the fight with an injury. Their fight was never rescheduled, and Chandler has fought twice since then, losing a unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira and suffering a TKO loss to Paddy Pimblett. McGregor hasn't fought since July 2021.
While Chandler is hopeful to finally test his skills against McGregor, he's resigned to the possibility that they never get to face each other in the Octagon.
"However, you know what?" Chandler added. "If it never happens, it never happens. We'll see."
