Booking Roman Reigns' Dream Matches and Feuds for the Rest of WWE's 2025 Schedule
Roman Reigns' return on the July 14 episode of Raw was a much-needed shot in the arm for a WWE product in need of a big return to rejuvenate it in the dog days of summer.
It popped the crowd at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama and created a renewed excitement at the top of the card on Monday nights, especially with injury keeping Seth Rollins out of action ahead of SummerSlam.
With Reigns back in the fold, what do the matches and feuds for the rest of 2025 look like for The OTC1?
Let's take a look via some good, old-fashioned fantasy booking.
Bron Breakker
1 of 3
At the core of Reigns' comeback is his quest for revenge on Paul Heyman, the man he once trusted with his career, only to be betrayed by him at WrestleMania 41.
Just 48 hours after his Wise Man stabbed him in the back to align himself with Rollins, Reigns found himself on the receiving end of an attack from Bron Breakker, who was the first Superstar to join Heyman and The Visionary. His devastating Spear put The Tribal Chief down and out.
With the approach of SummerSlam on August 2-3, as well as a renewed main event push for Breakker, comes the opportunity to elevate The Badass while giving Reigns a shot at vengeance.
The battle of second-generation stars on a card that already features big-time main event matches such as John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk vs. Gunther allows Reigns to bolster the card, Breakker to benefit from the exposure and the ongoing rivalry to write its latest chapter.
A Reigns victory that tests his resiliency and serves as a momentary roadblock for the otherwise unstoppable Breakker feels appropriate.
John Cena
2 of 3
John Cena has accomplished everything there is to achieve in professional wrestling, including winning a record 17 world titles.
With his latest reign potentially ending at SummerSlam, the remainder of his retirement tour becomes about solidifying his legacy and allowing him to bow out gracefully and in some of the biggest matches imaginable.
Enter Reigns.
While he continues to wage war with Heyman and Co. on Raw, The OTC1 steps up to the plate to battle The GOAT in a marquee match at one of WWE's fall premium live events, possibly Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia on October 11.
Cena battling to defeat Reigns for the first time is exactly what the doctor ordered to help elevate the overall quality of the veteran's retirement tour while wrapping up what has been an intensely personal feud at times.
Two babyfaces warring for nothing more than bragging rights on an international stage designed to build the WWE brand sounds like a great time.
Seth Rollins
3 of 3
No Superstar has caused Reigns more heartache and torment since 2014 than Rollins.
Despite The Visionary being out of action due to injury, there is a chance he returns before the end of the year. And even if he is unable to compete in a match, he can make his presence felt across WWE programming, especially with the Money in the Bank briefcase in his possession.
There is money to be made out of this most-layered story in WWE, even before Reigns and Rollins finally meet in one-on-one action for the first time since the 2022 Royal Rumble.
Rollins costing Reigns a SummerSlam rematch against Breakker or directing a beatdown that writes him off for a while, or The Tribal Chief interjecting himself into a cash-in attempt that robs The Visionary of a world title, could hold the audience over until they finally do meet.
With a little patience and long-term creative, WWE can even hold off on the match until WrestleMania 42, bringing an end to one of the great three-year story arcs of all time; one that touched three different main events at the biggest show of the year.
