Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios Odds, Live Stream; KO, Judges' Scorecards Prediction

Alex BallentineJul 19, 2025

A legend will make his return to the ring when Manny Pacquiao meets Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

It's been four years since Pacquiao stepped foot inside the ring. It's been six years since he's won a world title in the ring. Now, the man who has been the king of eight different divisions will try to win the welterweight belt one more time at the age of 46.

Mario Barrios, 30, will attempt to add some legitimacy to his title reign. He's the current WBC champion with Terence Crawford serving as the champion in recess of the governing body.

He's come up short against notables like Keith Thurman and Gervonta "Tank" Davis in the past. This is his opportunity to launch himself into the public consciousness.

Let's take a look at what the oddsmakers have to say about the match and make a prediction for how the welterweight bout will shake out.

Yordenis Ugás v Manny Pacquiao
Manny Pacquaio fighting Yordenis Ugas in 2021

Manny Pacquiao will attempt to set a new bar for aging welterweights on Saturday night. He's already the oldest fighter to win the 147-pound title at 40 years old. He's trying to reset the bar by six more years.

The biggest question surrounding Pacquiao is whether the time away from the ring has made him sharp enough to put together one more championship performance.

According to him, he feels like a much younger man coming off the long layoff.

"I feel excited!" Pacquiao told TMZ. "I mean, I'm still feeling like when I was [in my] 20s, late 20s, like still the same. Because boxing is my passion."

Theoretically, PacMan's time off has given him the time to rest his body after years of championship and marquee fights. A few years of pursuing things outside of boxing could have rejuvenated him.

The reality is that he his work cut out for him.

Barrios has gone 3-0-1 since his loss to Tank Davis. One of those victories came by unanimous decision against Yordenis Ugas. The 30-year-old came into that bout as a considerable underdog and ended up winning by a comfortable margin.

Pacquiao, on the other hand, happened to struggle against Ugas in his last bout back in 2021.

There are differing styles to consider, but Pacquiao was already showing the wear and tear of aging and a long career in that bout. The explosiveness that once made him one of the most feared punchers in the sport was gone and his output waned.

If that's going to continue to be the case then it's hard to see him becoming a champion yet again.

Expect him to take some rounds, make it a competitive fight and even convince one judge that he's done enough to win. Just don't expect a vintage Pacquiao performance.

This is probably one last nice payday and a chance for Barrios to get a notable win.
