Taylor v Serrano 3 - Public Weigh-in

Katie Taylor may have a 2-0 lead against Serrano, but there's a reason that there's an appetite for a third fight.

Taylor and Serrano have shown that their styles bring out the best in each other and there was plenty of controversy in the second fight. Taylor won 95-94 on all three scorecards, however, several media scorecards saw the fight for Serrano.

“Losing is never fun, but you only lose if you feel like you lost, and I didn’t feel like I lost,” Serrano told reporters at a pre-fight press conference.

Taylor, however, has acknowledged that she didn't need to take this fight. It would have been easy for her to move on to another matchup after going 2-0, but she felt running it back was the right thing to do.

"I just wanted to be involved in these huge, history-making fights," Taylor said, per Hallie Grossman of ESPN. "And with all the complaining and stuff from the other side, I think that they definitely should be sitting down and thanking me for this opportunity because I didn't need this fight."

There's a healthy amount of respect between the two fights, but this much familiarity has to breed some contempt as well.

The dynamics of the bout will be interesting to watch. Taylor is the more technical of the two and her ability to manage the distance, control the fight with her jab and counter has carried the day in the last two fights.

However, Serrano's power and volume caused issues last fight and created the tight scorecards.

There's a lot on the line. Not only is Taylor defender her belts, but she's looking to emphatically close the chapter on a rivalry that has been the most high-profile aspect of her career.

Serrano, meanwhile, is trying to show that she can finally beat her rival.

Either way, the fans are getting another classic entry in this rivalry.
