UFC Confirms Donald Trump's Plan to Host 2026 Fight at White House for 'America 250'
It looks like the UFC is headed to the White House.
A UFC spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic's Mark Puleo on Friday that plans are in motion for a UFC fight to take place at the White House as part of the United States’ 250th birthday celebration in 2026.
The news follows President Donald Trump’s public announcement of the idea during a speech in Iowa on Thursday.
“We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House,” Trump said. “We have a lot of land there. … We’re going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight.”
White reposted a clip of Trump’s speech to his Instagram story, adding the caption, “This will be EPIC!!” in support of the proposed White House fight event.
Trump has long been a supporter of the UFC, frequently seen ringside at events held at T-Mobile Arena. He most recently attended UFC 314 in April and UFC 316 in June.
Former UFC champion Conor McGregor also shared news of the planned White House fight, declaring himself in—even though he hasn’t stepped into the octagon since 2021.
McGregor fueled speculation by teasing that his long-anticipated bout with Michael Chandler could take place at the White House, hinting at the possibility of the high-profile showdown being part of the historic 2026 event.
