Warriors' Stephen Curry Reveals Why He Won't Start a Podcast in New Video
There is no shortage of current and former NBA players and professional athletes with podcasts in today's age, but don't expect Stephen Curry to join that list in the future.
"I love the idea of people giving fans a new perspective, some good storytelling," the Golden State Warriors star said in a behind-the-scenes video with Jon Youshaei (6:45 mark). "It does get a little loud at times. Some people are really good though.
" … You won't see me doing it, though. Don't worry about that. I have a lot of other things I wanna do other than be behind the mic every day. Cause if you're going to do something, you've got to be all in. It is a time commitment, it's a big lift. It's not something I'm passionate about."
Curry has plenty of commitments outside of his basketball career, as he and his wife Ayesha have their Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation that looks to "support children's well being through access to nutritious meals, quality reading resources and opportunities to play and be active because everyone deserves the chance to live a happy, healthy childhood."
He is also an avid golfer and participates in a number of pro-am tournaments. He also helped launch a golf team at Howard University.
Curry is scheduled to participate in the pro-am tournament ahead of the upcoming PGA Memorial Tournament on Wednesday.
Throw in the time commitment it takes to be one of the best basketball players in NBA history who is still playing at a high level at 37 years old, and it isn't that much of a surprise he isn't interested in joining the podcast game at this stage.
Perhaps he will change his mind when he retires, although it is notable he said he isn't particularly passionate about it in his comments.
That means Warriors fans will have to continue relying on The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis podcast if they want to consistently listen to a future Hall of Famer and current Warrior providing his perspective through the podcast medium.
