Knicks' Average Ticket Prices for Game 1 at MSG Ahead of Historic ECF vs. Pacers
New York Knicks fans hoping to get a seat in Madison Square Garden for Wednesday's Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers will have to pay a pretty penny.
Unsurprisingly, ticket prices are through the roof for the Knicks' first conference finals appearance since 2000.
As of this writing, a single ticket for Wednesday night's game would cost $557, including fees, on StubHub, for a 400-level seat. On Tickpick, a 300-level seat has an all-in price of $572. Ticketmaster is carrying standard admission tickets for 300-level seats at $573. The lowest price available on Vivid Seats is $593.
While there's some minimal comfort in knowing that the prices actually fell from the original listing of over $600 when the series first became official, there's still a massive discrepancy in the costs for the games at Madison Square Garden and those at the Pacers' home of Gainbridge Fieldhouse:
In comparison to the Western Conference Finals, Game 1 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves at Paycom Center would've cost under $200, a price that Knicks fans surely would welcome for their home games:
The astronomical prices at Madison Square Garden show just how beneficial it can be for the NBA when the Knicks are successful. After years of futility in New York, the franchise has finally returned to prominence thanks to its exciting crop of players, led by star point guard Jalen Brunson.
The Knicks were eliminated by the Pacers in last year's conference semifinals, so they will be seeking revenge against their longtime rivals. Wednesday's Game 1 is sure to produce some fireworks in New York as both teams try to start the series with positive momentum.
