NBA Teams Reportedly Expect Spurs to 'Entertain' Trade Offers for No. 2 Draft Pick
The San Antonio Spurs own the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and the team is reportedly open to trading the selection.
ESPN's Jeremy Woo reported Monday that opposing teams "expect the Spurs will entertain their options" with the choice, but the "wide assumption" is Rutgers guard Dylan Harper will be the pick.
Per Woo, "early signs" indicate that San Antonio is "very comfortable" with adding Harper to a young core that features Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle.
While the Spurs may not be actively looking to move out of the No. 2 spot, they appear to be more willing to listen to offers than they initially seemed to be.
ESPN's Jonathan Givony previously reported San Antonio was "not pursuing" trades involving the pick.
Still, the Spurs have shown they're willing to make moves for experienced contributors who fit alongside Wembanyama. They acquired De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings in a three-team deal prior to the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman, the Spurs were projected to stand pat at No. 2 and select Harper.
San Antonio doesn't seem to be actively attempting to move down in the draft order, but the team is still reportedly willing to listen to proposals from other front offices throughout the predraft process.
