Warriors' Steph Curry Cleared for Light On-Court Workouts Amid Hamstring Injury Rehab
The Golden State Warriors announced Wednesday guard Stephen Curry is cleared to resume light on-court workouts as he recovers from a hamstring strain.
The team said the 11-time All-Star will be re-evaluated Saturday, a day ahead of Game 6 if Golden State has extended its second-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The update was probably the best-case scenario. ESPN's Shams Charania reported Game 6 was likely the earliest Curry could suit up again, and it sounds like that remains a possibility.
The concern for the Warriors is that the season could come to an end before that.
Minnesota is up 3-1 on Golden State after reeling off three straight wins, and Curry's absence is playing a big role in the Timberwolves taking control.
Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle are combining to average 51.6 points per game, and Golden State is struggling to match that scoring punch without its best player. The Wolves have also connected on 45 three-pointers over the last three games compared to 27 for the Warriors.
Removing Curry from the equation, Golden State is the second-best team in this series, and it might be a wrap before he has another chance to play this postseason.
