Shaedon Sharpe Suffers Significant Knee Injury, Latest Updates and Timeline for Blazers SG

The Portland Trail Blazers will be without a key starter for much of the 2026-27 campaign.

Per ESPN's Shams Charania, shooting guard Shaedon Sharpe suffered a torn meniscus in his knee and is expected to miss six months.

The injury comes after the best season of Sharpe's career, in which he put up 20.8 points per game in his fourth year in the league. While he had a tremendous start to the 2025-26 campaign, he suffered an injury in February that forced him to miss more than two months of action.

He played significantly fewer minutes in the playoffs than he did during the regulars eason, averaging 13.6 minutes per game in the first round against the San Antonio Spurs and posting just 7.2 points per game.

That drop in minutes was perhaps more of a matchup decision than a slight to Sharpe, but it still likely left the young player hungry to prove he could provide solid minutes in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, he won't get to build off of the momentum from last season early in the 2026-27 campaign. If Sharpe's timeline is accurate, he wouldn't be back on the court until late February, meaning he'll have to make the most of the second half of the season and hope the Blazers are in a position to make the playoffs.

Even with Sharpe out for most of the year, Portland should be able to put together a solid season. The team has Deni Avdija leading the way and added star point guard Ja Morant this offseason.

The Blazers will also get Damian Lillard back after he missed all of last season.

Still, Portland can't afford any more injuries, but unfortunately, many of its players have a history of long-term ailments.
