Best Finishes for WWE WrestleMania 41's Top Matches on the Card
For the 41st time in company history, WWE presents WrestleMania, this time from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with a jam-packed card headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
A match of that magnitude sells itself, thanks in large part to the investment the fans have in those Superstars, but for it to truly take its place in the annals of WrestleMania history, the company and its performers must stick the proverbial landing.
They have to deliver a finish that captivates audiences and propels the story forward, as do the night's other top matches.
What are those best, most effective finishes?
Find out with this preview of the gigantic, two-night extravaganza.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jey Uso vs. Gunther
1 of 4
The entire story behind the world title match at WrestleMania has been Gunther's ridicule and mockery of Uso. He has labeled him a "joke," a "mascot" and laughed off the idea of someone who is essentially a catchphrase and entrance at this point beating him for the world title.
Then, he made the mistake of brutally attacking and bloodying Jimmy Uso, leaving the 2025 Royal Rumble winner's twin brother lying mere feet from him, his face caked with the crimson mask.
It infuriated Jey and awakened in him a side that has Gunther very noticeably reeling entering Saturday's championship clash.
Based on the build to the match, and the fact that The Ring General already possess three consecutive victories over Jey, the best finish is one that sees Uso unleash 10 weeks of hell on Gunther.
Late in the match, the world champion unleashes his trademark chops on Uso, trying to drive the air out of the challenger. The Babyface answers back with a barrage of superkicks, ducks another chop attempt, and delivers a spear. Another spear follows, as does a third, before Uso scales the ropes and delivers a splash for the win and his first world title.
Triple Threat Match: CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns
2 of 4
There are two different finishes that could be labeled "best" for the main event of WrestleMania Saturday, depending on the path that WWE Creative takes coming out of the show.
If the idea is that this match will tie into a larger, overarching storyline, as has been teased via Rollins' rhetoric in recent weeks, then the best finish is for Paul Heyman to betray both Punk and Reigns and side with The Visionary.
That potentially sets up a bigger angle on Sunday night, but more on that in a bit.
If there is no plan for Rollins, Punk, or Reigns to feature in the storyline involving John Cena and The Rock, the best finish is more straight forward.
Punk has not completed at WrestleMania since 2013 and has never battled in the main event of the show. Assuming this is a straight-forward main event, the best way to conclude it is for Punk to down Reigns with Go To Sleep and score the pinfall victory.
Why Reigns? To complete Cody Rhodes' promise from two years earlier, where he warned that Reigns' actions would one day leave him "a Chief with no tribe." That includes Heyman, who will accompany Punk to the ring for the main event and should the Chicago native win, likely stand by his side for the post-match celebration.
Women's World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair
3 of 4
Rhea Ripley has never defeated Iyo Sky. Bianca Belair has never lost at WrestleMania. That makes for two intriguing stories already in play for the Triple Threat Women's World Championship Match Sunday night.
Throw in the mounting tension between The Eradicator and The EST stemming from Ripley's title loss to Sky, and Belair's recent shift in attitude, and you have a potentially combustible situation by the time the bell rings in Las Vegas.
A victory for Sky would be an enormous momentum boost and firmly establish her as one of the elite competitors in WWE, something she already is despite lacking that one defining win.
For Ripley, regaining her title would establish what we already know: she is the top star in the women's division today and one of the most prominent Superstars on the entire roster. The only true benefit narratively, assuming she pins The Genius of the Sky, is that it provides her that elusive win over the defending champion.
The best finish available for the match centers on Belair and her continuing her transition into a heel. Stealing a win over Ripley, in which she capitalizes on the no disqualification stipulation that comes with Triple Threat matches, and blasts her with the championship belt before scoring the win, is exactly how to continue that progression and further cement the feud as one that will carry the women's division forward throughout 2025.
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena
4 of 4
The first match in Cena's heel turn must end with a historic 17th world championship victory Sunday night at WrestleMania.
The biggest babyface hero of WWE's last 20 years did not make the earth shattering creative choice to turn to the dark side, only to lose his first battle. He also did not sell his soul to The Rock to make it happen only for The Final Boss not to play a role in the marquee bout at this year's Show of Shows.
The best finish is an interference-heavy one in which The Rock, possibly even Travis Scott, play key roles in Cody Rhodes' downfall.
Rhodes got the best of Rock last year, with The Undertaker cutting off the latter's interference and setting the stage for The American Nightmare to emerge victoriously against Roman Reigns.
This year, the bad guy gets one over on Rhodes.
Think about some of Seth Rollins' verbiage entering WrestleMania, though, about how he has to beat Roman Reigns and CM Punk because it is what is "best for business."
That is the phrase utilized by Cena before his heel turn at Elimination Chamber, when he announced his entry into that titular match.
The best finish for WrestleMania 41's main event is one in which Rollins and Paul Heyman, fresh off a union the night before, join assist Cena in the victory. From there, The Rock appears at the close of the show and stands alongside Scott, Rollins, Heyman, and the new champion.
Of course, if that bit of fantasy booking does not come to pass, Rock simply assisting Cena with the victory will do just fine.
