No. 1 LSU Eliminated from 2025 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Bracket amid Livvy Dunne Injury
LSU women's gymnastics national title defense ended on Thursday.
The No. 1 Tigers came up short in the semifinal in Fort Worth, failing to advance past a talented field that featured Utah, UCLA and Michigan State. LSU was without Livvy Dunne, who has been sidelined due to an avulsion fracture in her kneecap.
The Utes advanced to the Final Four for the fifth consecutive year with a score of 197.7625. Utah recorded scores of 49.2125 in beam, 49.5625 in floor, 49.3375 and 49.6500 in bars.

LSU scored 197.5250 and Michigan State totaled 197.3625.
LSU performed best in the floor exercise, recording a score of 49.5000, but it didn't have enough in the other three events to crack the top two in its respective semifinal group.
The Tigers had a top-four score overall in the semifinals, which are split into two groups. Because the format sends the top two performing teams from each semifinal to the Final Four, LSU was unable to advance.
The stage is now set for the Final Four. Along with Utah and UCLA, Oklahoma and Missouri finished first and second and their group to advanced to the Final Four on Saturday.
