Masters Leaderboard 2025 Review of Top Scorecards and Player Stats on Day 2
Rory McIlroy rebounded from his awful first-round finish at The Masters to produce the lowest second-round score at Augusta National Golf Club.
McIlroy heads into the third round just two shots back of Justin Rose, who held on the solo lead he captured on Thursday.
Rose shot six strokes worse than his first-round score, but he still held on to the advantage despite a rush of notable names climbing up the leaderboard.
Bryson DeChambeau sits one shot back in second place, while Scottie Scheffler, Shane Lowry, Jason Day, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg are all within five shots of Rose's lead.

Rory Mcilroy Bounces Back in Impressive Fashion
2 of 4
Rory McIlroy rolled in the best round on course on Friday.
The Northern Irishman produced four birdies and an eagle on the par-five 13th hole during his bogey-free round.
McIlroy climbed up from even-par to six-under to move two shots back of Justin Rose and one behind Bryson DeChambeau.
McIlroy will play on Saturday with Corey Conners, who also sits at six-under.
Friday's response was perfect for McIlroy, who fell apart on the final few holes on Thursday.
Now, McIlroy is once again in a spot to finally claim a green jacket, but to do so, he has to beat out the likes of Scheffler and a handful of previous major winners lurking around the top of the leaderboard.
Scottie Scheffler Experiences Up and Down Day
3 of 4
Reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler experienced quite the afternoon on course.
Scheffler carded six birdies and five bogeys on the way to a one-under 71.
Scheffler's most challenging task came on the 18th hole, when he sent his tee shot into the woods. He rallied for a bogey that dropped him to five-under for the tournament.
The up-and-down afternoon is not what expect from Scheffler at a major tournament, but at the end of it, he is still three shots back of Rose.
Scheffler still has to be considered a favorite to win this weekend because of his history at Augusta.
If he steadies his game more on Saturday and Sunday, it could be game over for the rest of the field. Everyone else chasing the green jacket wants Scheffler to turn in a similar performance to Friday.
Bryson Dechambeau Cards Consecutive Rounds in 60s
4 of 4
Bryson DeChambeau was the only player to card two rounds in the 60s to begin the 2025 Masters.
DeChambeau improved on his first-round 69 with a second-round 68.
The most consistent golfer in the tournament so far will play in Saturday's final pairing with Rose.
The two-time U.S. Open winner resides in a familiar spot at Augusta. He went into the weekend with a tie for the 36-hole lead last year. He is one shot off the lead this time around.
DeChambeau has to be better over the weekend than last year, though, if he wants to win his first green jacket.
A year ago, DeChambeau fell out of the lead with a 75 and 73 in the final two rounds.
