Tennessee clinched a spot in the Elite Eight on Friday night with a dominant victory over Kentucky.
The No. 2 seed Volunteers defeated the No. 3 Wildcats by the final score of 78-65 at Lucas Oil Stadium in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee pulled ahead early, gaining a 10-point lead with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half and holding a 15-point advantage at halftime.
Kentucky couldn't close the gap, as the Vols maintained a double-digit lead throughout the entire second half.
Senior guard Zakai Zeigler finished with a game-high 18 points and 10 assists on 5-of-13 shooting for Tennessee, hitting two of his six attempts from behind the arc.
The Volunteers were led by their upperclassmen, as seniors Chaz Lanier and Jordan Gainey combined to score 33 points while shooting 46.4 percent from the field.
Fans were impressed with the performance from head coach Rick Barnes' squad.
Tennessee's swarming defense was impressive against a Kentucky team that ranked No. 3 in scoring among SEC teams during its 2024-25 campaign.
The Wildcats shot 49 percent from the field as a team, but they committed 12 turnovers compared to just 10 assists. Kentucky also struggled to keep Tennessee off the glass, pulling down 17 defensive rebounds while the Volunteers racked up 14 offensive boards.
The Vols will now face off against the winner of Friday's matchup between Houston and Purdue in the Elite Eight.
