Taylyn Hadley Mar 15, 2025

ESPN college basketball analyst Joe Lunardi unveiled his latest 2025 NCAA men's basketball tournament bracketology update Saturday.

Auburn remains steadfast as a No. 1 seed in the eyes of Lunardi despite their recent struggles.

ESPN's bracketologist unveiled his latest projected tournament field after Saturday's full slate of college basketball games. Even with No. 3 Auburn's loss to No. 8 Florida in the SEC Tournament semifinal, the Tigers remain the top overall seed in the upcoming NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Lunardi's projection Saturday included a note that said he viewed Auburn as the top seed regardless of the game's outcome. However, the Tigers have now lost three of their last four games, all against lower-ranked opponents.

Here's a look at the top seeds and the key bubble team in Lunardi's latest projection:

Top Seeds

No. 1 seeds: Auburn, Florida, Duke, Houston

No. 2 seeds: Michigan, St. Johns, Alabama, Tennessee

No. 3 seeds: Kentucky, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Wisconsin

Bubble

Last Four Byes: Oklahoma, Arkansas, West Virginia, Utah State

Last Four In: Vanderbilt, San Diego State, Xavier, Indiana

First Four Out: Boise State, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio State

Duke remains dominant in seeding, holding a No. 1 spot after defeating Louisville 73-62 on Saturday, despite being without Cooper Flagg, whom the team announced will be available for the start of the tournament.

Florida joins Duke and Auburn as a No. 1 seed after a dominant 104-82 win over Alabama, while Houston holds onto its No. 1 seed with a victory over Arizona.

The day featured several upsets beyond Auburn, including No. 7 Michigan State falling 77-74 to No. 18 Wisconsin. No. 22 Michigan edged No. 11 Maryland, 81-80, securing the final No. 4 seed with its advancement to the Big Ten championship game. Additionally, St. John’s solidified its No. 2 seed with a dominant win over Creighton.

As for the bubble teams, Colorado State clinched the Mountain West’s automatic bid, pushing Boise State to the first team out after its loss to the Rams. In response, Indiana moves in as the last team in with a win over Oregon on Thursday.

With the Big Ten Tournament championship set for Sunday, Michigan could possibly climb another seed spot to No. 3 if it can pull off a win over No. 3-seeded Wisconsin.
