Donovan McNabb Jr. Gets Offer from Michael Vick's Norfolk State CFB Program
Michael Vick played with Donovan McNabb on the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 and may coach his former teammate's son in the future.
Steven J. Gaither of HBCU Gameday reported that Vick, who is the head coach of Norfolk State's football program, offered a scholarship to Donovan McNabb Jr.
The younger McNabb is a wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class.

KD Burner Saga Was 'Distraction'
Vick isn't the only one who is interested in McNabb Jr., as Gaither noted Arizona, Iowa State, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Temple, Sacramento State and Southern Mississippi have all offered the wide receiver scholarships.
Perhaps most notably, Syracuse did as well.
The older McNabb played collegiately at Syracuse from 1995 through 1998 before he was the No. 2 overall pick of the 1999 NFL draft. He was the Big East Offensive Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons from 1996-98 and remains a program legend.
Given the family's connection to Syracuse, it may be difficult for Vick and every other head coach hoping to land the 2027 prospect.
Still, Vick has a connection many of the other interested programs do not. He was McNabb's backup on the Eagles during that 2009 campaign and then took over the starting job in 2010 after Philadelphia traded its longtime signal-caller to Washington.
Vick joined the Eagles in 2009 after he didn't play in 2007 and 2008 because he served 18 months in prison and two months in home confinement for financing a dog-fighting ring.
McNabb has been credited with helping mentor him as he returned to the NFL.
Now Vick is looking to turn things around at Norfolk State after the Spartans were just 4-8 in 2024. He will be doing plenty of mentoring of his own as the head coach at the collegiate level, and perhaps his connection to the McNabb family will help in this recruiting.
